Nike Engage Wedges

Had a guy look at my bag the other day and asked "where did you get these old rusted wedges?" I couldn't help but laugh and say they were only a month and a half old and had to explain raw wedges to him.

Seconded. Had my first chip in over 3 years (downhill lob shot with no room to work with). First few rounds with these wedges were a bit rocky (just getting use to their turf interaction), but there's a ton of confidence now and these are idiot proof out of the bunker. Have not had any of those bladed bunker shots since I've gotten these wedges. Truly a great product and the definition of innovation by Nike Golf.

This club has gotten me interested in trying out the rest of the Nike line!

Me and my wedge game are totally back! Love these wedges all over again. Me and the 52 Square are a match made in heaven.

I'll get you guys a picture tomorrow they are rusted perfectly even to a nice orange hue!

Playing in SoCal has given my TS a nice bronzing. Just wish my 50* SS would catch up.

I'm starting to wonder if I should have gone with the 56TS instead of the square.. Has anyone tried both and if so, what were your findings? I use a 56 for several full shots a round and can use a little help out of bunkers. I guess what I want to know is how is the TS with full shots if you're a digger?

Think I recently hit my first full shot with 54ts and lost it right as many have noted. I'll have to play around some more with this but it's money with all other uses so far. Mine is very dull looking but, are you all ready for this?....I give it a quick spray with wd40 whenever my clubs get a scrub.

The light rust will come off during use. It will let the more patina rust hang around. I know with mine the rust on the top 3/4 stays but anywhere there is turf interaction it pretty much acts like sand paper and takes it off. I had to angle my wedge because the lighting in my house is not the best but you can see how it takes some of and leaves the rest. Yep, the soles will almost always come back to their original dull silver finish as long as you use them.

Mine came without the wax because I had to order it from the custom department when they were backordered for awhile
It has been a very hot and dry summer this year...and the rain's coming back this weekend

I like the rust on the cavity portion but not the face
I actually clean the faces up w CLR every 10 rounds or so, and leave the back of it rusty
gets rid of the nasty spots on the faces like this
playing early am rounds, especially this last week, its very wet and the wedges seem to be getting rustier these days

dip em in some CLR for about 5 mins, then wash really good w hot soapy water and rinse
get off the coating that comes on them
they will rust over time after that

chipped in twice this week w my 60TS from greenside
still a WINNER for me!!

I'm a lefty, so she got me the dual sole 60, now I'm off to get a 56 and 60 square.. Really wish Nike would have released a lefty toe sweep though.

Finally got to play 18 today after 2 weeks of not playing. I'm rusty as my wedges are. That's for sure.

I made par from about like 35 feet. Over a ridge and downhill. Only highlight.

Quick update... We've had some heavy rain two nights this week so I left the wedges out on the patio. They're progressing nicely but are a little spotty at the moment. I figure it will even out over the next month or so.

Had a 100 yard shot yesterday to our tiny greens. I pulled out my 58 SS and let it rip.
One bounce and I'm like "this could be good to a mid/back pin location", second bounce "stop please!" And the ball kicks about two inches left and clang!! Off the pin and drops to about 1 foot. "Are you kidding me!! Why! Just go in the hole!!"
In my 6 years of playing "serious" golf I have never hit a pin from more than 10 yards out. This is my second pin hit in the last 2 months with the engage wedges. I think they are staying in the bag for a very long time!
On a separate note still looking for my first eagle and hole in one. This year has been punishing in that I have been less than a foot for both now!
And lastly tendinitis in my knee flared up again so it's putting a cramp in my golf game. Might have to start taking a cart instead of walking.

I'm still looking for that first Hole In One as well. I'm thinking about moving up to the forward tees to enhance my chances.

The wedge went for a little ride as I missed it on the flip so maybe next time it will make it into the hole! Actually yelled at a low level "you got to be kidding me!"
The course I play is a 9 hole course only 2300 yard par 33. With extremely small greens, most are only 24 yards long and wide. Only one hole more than 220 so I use a lot of irons. But it's only about 4 blocks from my house and grandSanta buys a membership every Xmas for us.
