I am not buying his story. I am not following how / why / with whom he left the bar.

Sounds to me like he could have been looking for something illegal - either prostitution or drugs. And whomever - decided to just take his money and not deliver any goods. Sorry - don't know the guy - but that is what is sounds like. He probably felt like he had to come up with some story due to his visible marks - he knew he would be questioned. If he was lured out by a woman (non prostitute) or new friend - why would he not just say that?

Not typically smart to call the police when illicit activities go bad.

Be interesting to see how it plays out.

From my experiences and experiences of friends we found that the Islands can be an unfriendly place for tourists. Some of the local lads are not restricted by law or morality and like to punch it up for some bling.

Enter Allenby, shoots 71-71 to miss the cut and decides to "blow" off some steam that nite before he leaves the next morning. While at a wine bar (??????) he finds one of the two things he is searching for to "release"" his tension and discouragement. One of those things, some local talent, strikes a merger agreement with him and off they go. On the way out the door Allenby, who is now carrying a full load, spouts off some Aussie trash about the locals and a few of those lads take him for a ride. He ends up in a dirt nap the next morning w/o any of his bling. Makes a great story/movie but who knows?

Allenby appears to have a habit of popping off and mixing it up and also a habit of getting the poop kicked out of him. He needs to either (1) stay out of bars, not likely (2) shut his mouth when he is in a bar, not likely, or door number (3) learn to fight better, not likely. From many accounts on the internet, therefore must be true, and watching the lad on the tube, Allenby doesn't appear to have a sweet sparkling personality, perhaps this tune will turn things around for him...................not likely.

Never like to see anyone get their face handed to them and hope this turns into a life lesson.

I'm waiting to reserve a bit more judgement for now, but there's a fair bit of irony in a reply that includes "listen to the homeless woman interview"...especially if you've ever heard any of the homeless here in Honolulu speak.
I'm not sure her version of the events is enough to necessarily disprove anything Allenby said, considering two things: 1) they have video of someone using his credit cards, and 2) we're talking to a guy trying to recall a few hours after he took what looks to be a pretty decent hit to the head. His story might not exactly match what others might have to say, but that doesn't mean he's making the whole thing up.
