Any chance of optic yellow in high numbers? I too love them and always get them with Pro V. But usually end of with white to get high numbers. In a perfect world high numbers in optic yellow would be out there somewhere

I tried a test pack and really liked the X. The Black was almost too soft. I don't know if it is a mental thing or what but growing up, we didn't have much money and I got used to playing Top Flites and Pinnacles so I think I have gotten used to a ball with "more to it" than some of the softer balls.

Between the MTB-x and black, which is the lower launching ball? I tend to hit my irons very high so I don’t want a ball that will balloon.

also, anyone gaming the get sum balls? Any feedback?

I haven't really noticed a big difference in launch angle, but the MTB-X spins more with the shorter irons, so the Black might be better for you.

I generally see a lower ball flight with Black than with the X. I believe that’s what Dean prescribes as well.

Hey.. sorry for the long time for posts.. needless to say it has been crazy. We came into the peak season, and Mass was last state to somewhat open, so my wife and I have continued to pack and ship, and we have been getting the people back slowly. Almost to full staff again. The BLACK high and X HIGH numbers balls are in stock as someone had posted. We have another order in place to try to keep this in the lineup all the time. The prototyping work based on your feedback has been somewhat delayed due the virus.. we have not been able to get the new protos in house and test them, so that has put us behind.. but in the grand scheme of things, its not so bad. We have continued to see very positive results from these posts, as well as from the independent testing. Thanks for all your patience and we will continue to push forward. Play well... Dean.

I would not mind low spinning X with lower flight.

Only advantage really is softer feel which is more preference than performance. The main disadvantage is lower ball speed due to increased deformation at impact (granted it takes a sizable discrepancy in overall compression to see a noticeable difference).

yeah agree. wanted to see if i was missing anything. Some ppl would say i should play the X given my clubspeed but so far the black has been fine. If anything I need to launch the ball a bit lower across the bag so that's what drew me to the black

Difference in initial launch angle across all models on the market is fairly minimal. Many people confuse launch for peak height which is more influenced by the dimple design than anything (keep in mind that both MTB models have the same dimple design so many will not noticed much of a difference in terms of peak height).
