I'm sure that I've got several posts on this thread already but this just happened now.... I was cleaning out my golf bag today and came across about eight loose Snell MTB's in my bag that I've been playing with for over a month. I've been trying to get rid of them, as in throwing them in the shag bag, but even looking really closely, I can't find a thing wrong with any of them. No dents, scuffs, nothing, at all, like brand new. Now, I'm not too hard on my golf balls as I keep them in the fairway for the most part but still, this is pretty unusual. Their durability is really impressive. The bummer? is that I've got about six dozen of these things, meaning that at this rate, I'll never run out of 2016 Snell MTB's. That's not a bad thing but there are a few other balls I like playing, ie- Bridgestone B330, Titleist Pro V1X, Taylormade TP5X

So, tldr; is this ball comparable to the prov1x, chromesoft x, tp5x?

Try them! For only $25 a dozen, what do you got to lose?

I believe Dean has said the new ball, or one of the new balls that's coming out early next year is a 4 piece, which is comparable to a ProV1x/TP5x (even though TP5x is 5 layer)

The current ball is a 3 piece ball which is what the ProV1 is.

...

Or a K-Sig.

Or a Vice Pro+, or Cut Blue, or Volvik S4, or Nike Tour Black / Platinum, or Srixon Z-Star XV. Should I keep going?

Looking forward to the new ball

I played the Chromesoft X for most of the summer. Just switched back to the Snell. Can't tell much difference between either if I was blind folded or the balls were not marked. Very similar to me.

Dean, When the new ball comes out would it be possible to have spin rates for all charted up with the current offerings?

I think that is a great idea and something the direct to consumer people like dean should absolutely embrace. As long as other numbers that could influence the spin rates are included. Basically a full trackman readout and the exact specs of each club used. It would be transparent and hopefully provide consumers to look apples to apples. Also would love to see half shots included for some reference to Greenside spin understanding that different core compressions etc influence feel (perceived spin). Wedge,8,6, Driver. Give it all. Great idea

I have found the MTB to feel much like the Project a off the club. Fantastic...

That would make sense as Dean was involved in both balls design I guess. Big fan of the MTB ball and can't wait for the new ball to arrive.

That's what I understand. My son, 12, and I gravitate to the Project a as he loves them for competition. Great ball. I have hit my best drives with that ball. But, have played my best overall golf with the Snell products, and continue to transition more to the Snell as we deplete our stash of balls. The Get Sum continues to pleasantly surprise me, too. By far the best non-urethane product I've played. 90% of the balls in our bags are Dean creations.

I just watched this video:

...where they think, that the Snell is the best golf ball - at least in comparison to the ProV.

The ProV1 is like Lt. Worf in Star Trek:TNG. Any character they wanted to show was a bad-a**, at some point in the episode they would fling the big Klingon guy across the room like a rag doll.

This is the kind of testing we like people to do... compare head to head and see the results.... then compare the pricing...

I would have tested the MTB, if it were not sold out in Austria...

...or if a single dozen would be available below 36.- € in Europe.

In comparison, I have to pay for the (assumed) KSig equivalent Nassau Quattro 30.- €, and for the Z-Star XV 2017 36.- € (the B330S is in between those prices).

I am still keen on giving them a try.

But now, I have to wait until winter is gone.

There's no winter in Australia! :golfer:

Saw that my pouch in my golf bag is almost empty so I snagged a dozen MTB at the local Big 5, of all places, today.

i too look forward to the new ball....hope it doesnt get delayed anymore then first of the year

None of us do brother man.

Truth of the matter is, I hope it's worth the wait but, I most definitely will not be the first one in line for ones off the shelf. Unfortunately, something has happened to my game lately and I'm not losing as many balls. It's a real problem because I have so many boxes of balls to go through before I move to these (if they are well stocked, have a good receiving, and are worth it haha).

Yeah. I'm the worst golfer I know who doesn't lose a lot of balls. Often, I'll finish with the same ball I started with. It's a mystery to me...

Right? Isn't it annoying?!

I waited months to get the Vice Pro+ in Green and they finally arrived and I had to grab 5 dozen...I got them 2 months ago and haven't even dove into the pack yet.
