That dial on the bottom is useless, unless you ground your driver. So its set at 0

My long standing driver int he bag

Titleist 910D3 with Motore F1 65g stiff - have experimented this year with Prolaunch Platinum 75g reg (felt more boardy than the motore stiff to me), and now have a prolaunch blue 65g stiff for trial (always hit this well in Ping heads)

Recently acquired Callaway Optiforce 440 head, now fitted with VS Proto 60g stiff (shaft came in a 'tour use only' wrapper which made me laugh).


Edit 08/25 - won a 915D3 last night for a great price, so looks like the 910D3 has some real competition now !

My stats/specs/age are almost identical to yours but I don't think I get up to 98 anymore; probably top out at 95.

Have you tried a stiff shaft ?

I'm playing my Bio Cell+ with a Diamana Blueboard [u]stiff[/u] at 44.75" with no problems,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I get much better dispersion [u]AND distance[/u] with a stiff (over a regular).

Ping G30 10.5* with the tour 65 in stiff. First stiff shaft I've used in about 20 years. Switched from Xstiff.

I'm still playing the Callaway X460 Tour 8.5* with an Aldila NV 65-S shaft. The club is old but it's treated me right thus far. I love the feel of this driver and I have yet to hit the new ones well enough to warrant a switch.

I love the way the shaft feels, however, I still get a lot of backspin. I'd love to decrease backspin to around 2000 on average.

So I just recently picked up a Fubuki Alpha 60x5ct, holy. crap. This shaft is a freaking BEAST. I'm so glad I got this shaft. So now my set up is a Covert 2.0 w/ 9.5 loft and a Fubuki Alpha 45.25 in length. What a crazy different feeling shaft. It's so smooth and consistent, it's amazing.

EDIT: Oh, and it BOMBS golf balls (I use Chrome Soft)

I've been playing my Cobra ZL Encore 10.5* with the stock Motore F3 reg. flex shaft for several years now (2.5? 3 years?). Recently, I hit a friend's Ping G30 (stock, reg flex shaft) and got a bit more distance out of it. I really like my ZLE for its consistency, but have always complained about the distance. So, I've been educating (hopefully) myself on shaft characteristics. What I've come up with is a Grafalloy ProLaunch Blue Super Charged that I'm going to try in my ZLE. It's 57 grams (2 more than my F3 and the Ping), has the same bend and tip characteristics of the Ping shaft (med/low, med/soft) which is slightly lower/softer than my F3, and its torque is 4.3 (which puts it about midway between my F3 and the Ping shaft). Put a ZLE adapter on it last night, will grip it today, and maybe play with it tomorrow (God willing and the creek don't rise). I'm hoping to gain a bit more distance similar to how I hit the Ping, while still maintaining something close to the control I have with my stock F3 shaft.

I went thru the trying new drivers process and wound up going back to my old faithful's. I alternate between 3. FT9 9.5 tour ad quattrotech s. FT9 10 oban devotion 6 04. FT9 10 motore F1 s. If I were going to buy a new driver right now it would be the Fly Z+. Hit it very good comparing against everything else at golfsmith.
