Vice Golf balls

I gave the Vice PRO a run and compared it to the TaylorMade TOUR Preferred. The Vice PRO holds its own and I will definitely keep a couple in the bag, but I don't think it will replace the TM TP for me.

The things I was looking for most in the Vice PRO was a ball that could hold the line and not balloon up on tee shots. It did just that. Into the wind? It did great. Great feel and response around the greens. It had a little more release than the TM TP for me.

Again, great ball and a steal for the price.

I feel like I posted a review here.. but maybe it was on Reddit. I got the Pro Plus to give it a go. Now I normally get 6 dozen ProV1x's each year to use as a Teaching Professional, so I use those until I lose them or wear them out. Playing 2-3 rounds a week I go through them fairly quick, or scuff them up reasonably fast.

I picked up the Vice Pro Plus to fill in the gaps and not break the bank. I really like the ball. It behaves just like a ProV1x to me, good spin on the greens and seems to be the same driving distance give or take 2 yards. The difference I noticed was I hit my irons about 7-10 yards further with the Pro Plus over the ProV1x so not really sure what that is about.. but it certainly took a bit of time to get used to the difference.

I also picked up a box of the Pro Flamingo balls for fun. Mostly so when I play in scrambles .. the guy with the pink ball was the furthest. What I noticed on these is .. they seem to be pretty spinny, this may be attributed to a lower compression than the Pro(which I have heard said) simply because they are pink but I am unsure about this. I can stop these pretty quick and my distance seems to be pretty much what I expect it to go.

I've been playing the Vice Pro Neon for at least a year now. I like the price but what I really like is the bright yellow/green color. They practically glow in the dark and I can track them in the air better than any other ball I've played. They're also a lot easier to find in the trees where I tend to end up.

I've been waiting for one of their email sales (buy 5, get 1 free) but haven't seen one in a while.

How do I get on the e-mail list please and thank you?

My first Vice purchase was the variety pack. I gave the Tours to a friend (wish I'd tried them myself), left the Drive model in the car.

Used the Drive as my tee ball in a scramble, but otherwise didn't pay much attention to it. Until last weekend.

I'd switched to the 50 Elite for a golf trip, on a lark. When pulling a ball out of the bag on the course, I saw the Vice Drive ball, thought I'd give it a couple swings. Hit it fairly decently, but what surprised me was how it behaved on a couple chip shots; it actually checked a bit. Took one 30 yds into the fairway and hit a short pitch with my 60*, it checked again.

FWIW this was a resort course with somewhat firmer greens, not tour level firm, but more than what one might expect at the usual public course.

Also FWIW, my 60 is a 25 yr old Ram wedge, its not like we're talking about a brand new milled wedge club face. ;)

I didn't get a feel for wind performance or anything else, just thought the surprise checking was worth a mention.

Here is my Vice Pro Plus that cracked in the first 6 holes. This is the first ball of the dozen that I put into play. I am playing another ball on Monday. I hope this is not an ongoing issue, but it seems based on everyone else's input that this may be the first occurrence in this thread.

I probably have too high of a swing speed for this ball *joke*.

Sent an email to Vice and got a reply quickly that they will investigate and figure out a resolution.

Update: The resolution was that they will add a sleeve of balls to my next order. Not bad, but I don't know if I plan on ordering any additional balls.

i played with a gentlemen a few weeks back who played the Vice Pro and gave me one to try out on the 3rd hole. Played the rest of the round with it and thought performed as well if not better than Pro V1x. for almost half the price I may make the switch.

Interesting. I found the Pro to resemble a ProV1 much more than a ProV1x.

Love Vice. Been using the pro plus since it came out, and couldn't be happier. From 130 yards in, its deadly. It has the most stopping power on the greens that Ive come across. It does spin a bit more off the driver than a prov1x- but it makes up for it with its insane stopping power. You hit a green with a short iron, and the ball will stop on a dime.

Cheers

Great to hear but their customer service is terrible. I just placed an order and realized I purchased the wrong ball. I have tried calling 3 times to change my order and get survey after survey for car insurance, cruises...etc. Then finally they come on and say it is after hours? It's 11:30 am EST?

Their office is located in Germany. I have an email address of someone who was pretty good with me about communicating with issues with my order. If you need a contact shoot me a PM

I've played it a couple times and definitely like it for the price. Doesn't kick the B330 out of the bag.

The problem I have with Vice Golf balls is if you want to try a dozen of the Pro model they are $34.95/dz and another $7 for shipping! I can get a dozen of the Snell MTB's for $31.95/dz with free shipping. I am not going to buy 3 dozen of the Vice balls and spend $100 before I have tried them. Sorry.

You can always grab the sampler pack for 20+7 for shipping. 27 for a dozen is...slightly better...i guess?

I was a massive Vice advocate for the past several months after making the switch. Found little issue save the odd busted-too-soon ball, won a long drive with the Pro Plus, and saw no difference in overall performance to a brand name premium ball. This past week changed my mind.

Had multiple balls crack inexplicably. One was a new ball that I piped off the tee, wedged into the green and when I checked it on the next tee box, it looked like I spent the last hole hitting trees. Two cuts that looked like a knife had been used. Bizarre.

Got home, found 6 dozen B330 for $25/doz on the bay. Adios, Vice balls...but I'll be a glove customer for sure. Those things are flawless.
