Less age than use. They probably have 120+ walking rounds over 3+ years. After telling Tex that I was waiting for the 2017 shoes to be released (usually around Feb/March) so I could get a discounted 2016, I got home from our round to discover that the right shoe has about a 2in long separation from the base. So I caved and bought some new Pumas.

 

Still want those white asics though.

I have 3 pairs, mainly wear 2. Both of the ones I wear are Contour Casual. Going to get a pair of New Balance ones before Winter is over.

GTF : I've got 5 at the moment. 3 colors of TW15, 1 pair of Nike poser Lunar Control 4, and that pair of Lunar Clayton I impulse purchased because of the price. I just trashed my pair of white Nike Tour Premium that was in 10000x better condition than Bangass' sorry looking shoes. I usually hover anywhere between 3 and 6 pairs. No pair of white shoes ever lasts very long, because they get looking crappy pretty fast. I'll be grabbing some TW 17s when they come out, and the brogue cap toe G-Fore shoes in the WRX home page article from day 2 of the PGA show are looking pretty dope. Nothing will ever live up to the TW 13s. Those things were indestructible... unless you put them in the washing machine without taking the spikes out, and one of the shoes rips a big gash in the other... not that I speak from experience.

4 pairs of Crossflex. One is just old and for around the yard wet projects. Another I have yet to break out, but this is the year!

3 pairs of FJ professional spikeless, a Cally pair (yes, I do!) and two pairs of Tru spikeless for the office.

 

And yes, these are actually comfy for the office. Would not bang on course, but sitting at desk, all day long I'm smiling.

Some shoes, yeah. Sneakers, or shoes made with synthetic uppers. I'd never put a pair of shoes with leather uppers in the wash.

I subscribe to the eagle golf theory, where the ball should match the outfit should match the shoes.

- white adidas of some kind. worn once (caves valley) then abandon somewhere into my trunk.

- white and pink ascis gel tour pro. worn a few times. heavy like reliable gun.

- white and platinum, ross nike lc3. worn 2x. my pinkie toes don't like them. abandon somewhere into a closet.

- white and fuscia, bcf nike lunar command. NWT. waiting.

- gray tw14s. go to walking shoe. indestructible.

- black tw15s. worn a couple times.

 

spikeless:

- blue and neon green nike FI impacts. fantastic. wear them off the course as well.

- 2x gray and neon green nike lunar cypress. one i've worn down to the nubs, still good for off course. one BNIB. waiting.

- dark gray and red nike lunar cypress. BNIB. took me 2 years to find a pair in my size and on sale. waiting.

- white and royal blue ashworth cardiff. BNIB. forgot i had these until i just thought about it right now. still waiting.

 

so that's 11 total pairs, but 4 waiting to be used, 2 that have been dante'd, and 5 in semi-rotation.

It's not hoardy so much as I hold onto a pair someone else might toss, and I loaded up on the $30 chukkas at one point.

 

I don't mind having a lot of golf shoes as long as I never get to the point of "I can't believe I never worse these and now I need to throw them out because they look like '09 Callaways". Every pair I've ever bought, I've walked into the ground.

I have one major shoe purchase regret in my life: I did not buy these when they came out in 2007. I had them in my cart. I was making nowhere near enough money to justify spending $200 on a pair of golf shoes when I was playing golf 4 or 5 times a year.
