Timbers is up.

$57 weekday mornings before 11AM.

$52 after 11AM.

$47 after 2pm

I'm pretty excited to get out there. I mostly like the layout and holes. Decent route. It was just such a mess.

I have never played there, but would be interested in checking it out soon. Next week is finally slow at work so I might take a day or two off mid-week.

I would also be in for a Timbers outing. It is close to the casa but I have not made it there yet.

I will book a foursome for May 11th if there are others interested. I'd prefer mid-morning so traffic dies down a little, but am flexible on the time.

Damn, I have 5/10 off but not 5/11... oh well. On break in Shippensburg. Boogs would not be able to keep himself in control. So many college girls around here.

I eat oats M-Th.

That is groot. My office mate has a bunch of geek toys and drawings his daughter did. His daughter SUCKS at coloring.

I got the plate at a little craft store. It is a nice plate. There's a picture of it on my instagram feed from years ago. The monster pointing to the marble.

This is what my wedge looks like 4 days after a GD embarrassing display of short work on the course.

I'm not exactly sure what the deal with the dark line is. I think that's basically the portion of the face that really carves through the dirt. It's not from hitting it all over the face.

I had a cool experience this afternoon, and it's got me feeling positive.

I've gotten to the point where I just can't neglect taking care of my body anymore. I stopped exercising when my first was born, which I've always assumed was a big reason I started having physical issues that I'd never had before in my life. I'm sure a lot of people can get away with not doing anything and be fine, but it's abundantly clear that I can't. #wispybodlyfe

I wanted to find somebody that knows injury recovery and prevention, and works with athletes building functional strength. First call was an old high school buddy of mine. He opened a new athletic training facility in Howard County last year. Trains athletes at all levels, and it's an awesome facility. 3 sport varsity athlete, that went on to pitch in college, and suffer through a much worse bout of what I have with my right shoulder. He's amassed an incredible amount of knowledge and experience building his business.

So after a long discussion, we dug in to do a TPI assessment. Going through some of the shoulder specific movements, he picked out very quickly the way my shoulder was moving improperly to cause the pain. Also got to the why it was moving improperly. Identified a few other areas of imbalance and less than ideal range of motion. Went through some foam roller and lacrosse ball soft tissue work from there, and talked some more about what I want and how we're gonna work to get it done. He's going to build up an program for me, that I'll be able to do at home. Got some basic stuff like a TRX already, and will have to pick up a few other pieces to make it work. Nothing crazy though. I'll go in and work with him once a month to keep things on track and modify as needed. He feels great about being able to take care of my shoulder issue, and get me shored up to prevent more of this crap from happening.

It's hard to put into words just how insightful the experience was. It's like what I wish physical therapy would have been. I'm excited to get back next week to see him and get started.

Just a heads up for Saturday, Manassas is doing their airshow I think, and depending which way you take (28) heading to Bristow, you'll pass the airport and could have some heavier traffic.

You know that feeling you get when everything seems to be going pear-shaped and there is *literally* nothing you can do to stop it?

Yeah. I got that.

Excuse the pity party, work is working my junk like a speed bag. For nothing. So pointless.

Not that conniving Sully. But I guess the same can't be said for you.

My move is forwarding an email I "accidentally" sent to myself... and changing the time stamp. Or, screwing with a file extension so that I know it will read as "corrupt" when I attach it.

That's all I got tho.

Hacksaw Jim Duggan was one of my favorites. Probably you too, because you work in a hardware store.

I had stopped watching by the time of these "new" guys came along, but I just found a hilarious match where he takes out Steve Austin.

[/media]

That's followed by a match against Goldberg where Duggan is out cold, and Goldberg keeps going at him and the announcers are begging for it to stop.

I have no idea what TPI and TRX is, but if it gets you playing more golf, I'm all for it.

Very small time frame to evaluate the cause/effect but since I've started doing yoga, I haven't dealt with any of the "nagging" injuries. Although, I'm also hitting fewer balls these days and playing more, so it could be that.

I don't remember the last time I used a salt packet. I keep this on my desk at work. I don't run out of salt.

Nice Oats.

Speaking of oatmeal... how do you like it? Sweet or salty? Smooth or lumpy?

I get the same non-quick oats as City because I like the oatmeal a touch underdone for some chewiness, or as Boogs would say, get some of that husk in there. With a dash of cream and sugar (but we have the big Domino sugar canisters, so no need for Fabb flicking the sugar packets).

Re: our bunkers at Compass Pointe discussion:

So I went to the range last night and tried to duplicate the conditions of the greenside bunker at Compass Pointe (hard underneath, maybe a 1/4 of sand on top- at least the 3 I hit into were) and how to get out. So I rake out most of the sand till I hit the hard stuff- and raked a little bit back on top. I tried 2MoreTerps method, and while I could get the ball out- I had no control over the shot. I tried it my way again- and continued to blade the ball. What I found that worked for me (and I can't believe I'm having to say this) was Sully's advice of squaring the face and playing it like a chip. I opened my stance- played it toward the front, and hit ball first. I had to keep my head real still to keep from hitting it fat. But then I could get out with a controllable shot. Now I was trying this with a 58/12- so you guys with lower bounce wedges will probably have it easier anyway.

But for what its worth (Gulp) (pulls on collar) Thanks Sully.

My breakfast each morning. . .

I microwave about a quarter cup of oats when I get into work at 6:30 with a touch of salt. I put the bowl in the fridge.

When it's breakfast time (about 8:30), I scoop about a half cup of Fage full-fat yogurt, and half a grapefruit into the now gummy oats and mix it up.

There's a "dish" called "Swiss Oatmeal" that is mixing together yogurt and oatmeal and letting it sit in the fridge. This is sort of a version of that. It's like having yogurt and fruit, but a little more "filling" because of the oats.

When I'm eating plain oats, I'll use a little sweetener (like honey), and maybe mix in some raisins and cinnamon. And, I don't like them runny. Soft, not really husky, but not runny.
