In contacts with Nike regarding the lofts and lies on the Fly Pro irons. Finally had a chance to double check them. They are off on some of the clubs which is a bummer because when I order custom, they should be spot on. It wouldn't be a big deal if these were bendable but these things don't move at all! The left side is the current specs and the right side is what they should be at. Good news is they are D2 which isn't too bad.

 

4 iron 22* loft, 59* lie (21* loft, 58* lie)

5 iron 24.5* loft, 60 lie (24* loft, 59* lie)

6 iron 28* loft, 60.5 lie ( loft is ok, 60* lie)

7 iron 32* loft, 60.5 lie

8 iron 36* loft, 61.5 lie

9 iron 40* loft, 62* lie (61.5* lie)

PW 44* loft, 61* lie (45* loft, 62 lie)

 

Kind of a bit all over. I even ordered the PW 1* weak and its the standard loft.

Yeah I was hoping to be able to weaken them but they get close to snapping and even if they were to bend they would go right back. I'm about a club longer with them. They are strong but the flight is still what I like to see out of each iron just hotter. Only other iron that peaks my interest is a full set of T-MB. Don't count me out on that one just yet. :)

Vapor Fly and Cobra LTD with HZRDUS was the last hit. Range balls though. Want to play around with this on course. Seems as from looking at it the Cobra spins a little less. I have a whiteboard on the way for the Vapor Fly. I have a feeling the Fly might end up being legit after changing the shaft. That being said though the Cobra is in the bag for this weekend.

It's right there with them. Just more inconsistent. Consistency wise it goes Vapor Fly, Cobra, D4. I have a Trackman session Thursday with all 3. One thing this thing doesn't measure is dispersion.

Outdoor or indoor. I like it. It's not Trackman but some of the reviews show its within a close range. I will probably use it more for wedges and distance control than anything. Hard not to want to hit a bunch of drivers though

Seems like the D4 is leaving. Hello Cobra. Nike is very close though. Changing the shaft here soon.

Had a Trackman session. The guy I know is getting the Trackman 4 soon which means I will be headed back for more. 8 weeks back order. He is getting 4 of them. Anyways, last year I was having issues with angle of attack coming in -2 sometimes even more than that so I was curious to see how I have improved. Well now it shows I am coming in +5 lol. So I worked on leveling that out and would like to be somewhere around 0 to +2. I am waiting on the data to come back but the D4 is coming out of the bag. I was playing the D4 at 10.5 and even dropping it lower didn't do much. We went ahead and adjusted the Nike from 10.5 to 8.5 of loft and got some good numbers with it but spin was a little higher than what was optimal. With the D4 my spin was over 3000rpm and with the Nike I believe it was 2600-3000rpm. We moved to the Cobra and set the loft at 9* and ball speeds were almost as high as the Nike and spin on a good one was in the 2300 range. I have a whiteboard I am slapping in the Vapor Fly and I think it will really give the Cobra a run for its money. I tweaked my setup a bit to bring my angle of attack down as well. I guess this weekend I will see what it looks like on course. I always played lofts 10.5-11.5 so I am interested to see how lofting down will go for me. I can't wait for the data to come back as this is all off memory. In other news... just might order a set of T-MBs...like 95% sure I am.

Used the Cobra yesterday in my 2nd round at the SF City. Very impressed. It's like a hotter version of the r15 for me. The r15 was very straight but got beat by the D4 in regards to distance. I hit multiple great drives with the Cobra. Dropping the loft down to 9* from 10.5* really did me well. There is hole #4 at Lincoln where last week I hit a decent drive with the Nike Fly and was 25 into the green and yesterday I hit it into the green side bunker which is 302. I hit it on the fly. It is slightly downhill so I am not expecting my carries to be that far going forward but that drive wowed me. Just goes to show how if you have access to Trackman to jump on it for a checkup when you can. I had no idea my spin rates and angle of attack had went up so much it was causing me to lose distance. I am still going to put another shaft in the Vapor Fly just for fun but at this moment I am pretty damn happy with the Cobra and HZRDUS combo. :)

Vapor Fly Pro? Honestly I am looking for a reason NOT to like them. So far the only thing I come up with is Nike custom department didn't build them to the exact specs I need them at and still trying to get that resolved. They don't bend for crap and will bend right back if moved. The stronger lofts allowed me to pick up a full club. I backed up a 7 iron from 185 yards today so they spin well. And spin on my 7 iron is 7000-7300 so right in line. So a few minor issues that I am working out. They look pretty boring in the bag aesthetically but look great at address. All in all they flat out perform well for me.

You should be able to move loft and or lie +/- 2 degrees.

 

Don't feel bad about them being a bit strong. I measured a TM M2 4 and 7 iron yesterday. Loft on the 4 was 19 degrees and the 7 iron was 28 degrees...........LOL.

You should be able to move loft and or lie +/- 2 degrees.

Nope these don't move. They almost snapped. Even Nike only allows 1* movement in customs. They are on to something though. If they make the next version of Pro Combo a little larger and closer to these and forged... Take my money now!!!

Yeah, I meant Vapor Fly Pro, sorry about that, long day yesterday. It's disappointing you can't bend them, but I can adjust to the stronger lofts. Can't wait to test them more, just waiting for the weather to get a little warmer in Ohio. I've found that sometimes when I test clubs in colder weather, I get different results when it warms up. Backing up a 7 iron from 185, that's awesome!!
