Zach Johnson not high

It wasn't that big of a deal, but he was irritated.

Johnson wanted to play a low shot and his caddie said something about a high shot. He said, "NOT HIGH, LOW! NOT HIGH, LOW! THE SHOT IS A LOWER SHOT, NOT A LOW SHOT, THAT IS HOW YOU PLAY THESE" Something like that.

I believe the caddy wanted him to hit a low runner and Johnson felt he could go for the green with a normal lower shot. He ended up in the rough and made bogey.

According to pretty much all accounts (and the few times I literally spoke to him when I was a mediocre college golfer playing at his former home course, Heathrow CC), Zach Johnson is a fantastic person who is very likable. Buy hey, one random conversation between a player and his caddie when disagreeing on what kind of shot to play is probably a far better way to judge what type of person someone really is.

Also, Zach and his caddie have been together for a LONG time. I think disagreements between he and Damon are strictly business and has no bearing on what type of person either of them are.

You always hear this and could be true but after speaking with a friend who played a practice round in a US Open I am not so quick to defend him. I've been around Damon quite a bit but have never really discussed his boss. Not that I would post anything negative he said here anyway, if he had said anything juicy.

Zach Johnson comes off to me as kind of jerky, but not completely jerky. He's like a middle of the road guy to me. I think he's just wound too tight basically.

If he sees someone moving at all, he is the type to point his finger at you shaking his head in disgust. Kind of reminds me of how Montgomery was always trying to patrol the crowd... and that didn't go well. He isn't that fan friendly really that way.

But I haven't seen him slamming clubs, or cursing, etc., so he's not all that bad either. He's not that marketable of a guy because he's just... blah.... needs to relax basically.

I hate his swing finish and something about the way he looks with orange sunglasses bothers me. I don't like the way he carries himself and gets upset so easily with noisy crowds. I don't know him personally, and for all I know he's a great guy. However, sports is entertainment and therefore I root against him. Great player though. He's had a wonderful career and no one can take that away from him.

If I found the right shot, pot bunker on 12, that was just typical player/ caddie debating and a nice clip of a caddie giving an opinion. He of course backed up his bosses idea as a good caddie should in most situations. Obviously Damon had a different opinion and at the end Zak even said "ok?"
