I generally also don't like athletes who think that the Almighty might be interested in something as mundane as sports and "helped them to win", but I have really started to like ZJ ever since I saw the way he congratulated Phil when he won the Open. The way he did it seemed so warm and sincere, I thought "Wow, this seems to be a really good guy."

I feel for Jordan Spieth. It's one thing to be out of it and not getting the third, but to be that close and taste it... ouch. That stung a little for a 21 year old. What if they didn't make up holes in that crazy wind? Never know.

Funny thread with all the irrational hate. I've always liked him and actually hoped, that if Spieth or Fowler couldn't pull it off, that ZJ would win. Always struck me as a good guy. Always loved watching the way he plays and how he approaches the game against much longer hitters.

I am a believer, don't think God is making Zachary win or giving him a special edge. This is the area called vocation. He gives it freely to believers and nonbelievers. No problem with a guy thanking God for his vocation and sending a savior for him. Sometime it comes off hokey though.

Why so much hate based on his beliefs? He hasn't forced anyone to convert to Christianity. He hasn't insulted anyone because they aren't a Christian. He isn't like Bubba; he is a legitimately great guy who practices what he preaches 100% of the time.

All of those who know him have nothing but great things to say about him. I think that should speak for itself.

I was somewhat skeptical about ZJ before, but I really started to like him, ever since I saw how sincerely and warmly he congratulated Phil, when Phil won the Open. After that I thought: "This seems to be one genuinely good guy."

And side note: the fact that he won without being a long hitter completely destroys that one poster's thread that Spieth wouldn't be able to contend at St. Andrew's, as if Spieth contending at St. Andrew's wasn't enough.
