Which Accessories Identify You As A Hacker?

Didn't mean to hurt your feelings there, but that's kind of the point of this thread, titled which accessories identify you as a hacker. Nothing I said is 100% how I feel, and I'm sure Tiger woods or any other pro wouldn't have a problem breaking 70 with jeans on.

That said, there are many companies out there that make pants specifically for golf.

And to your shorts and no see sock comment, I could care less about how other's perceive me on the course, I'll let my clubs do the talking. However, I walk 99% of my rounds and don't want my socks slipping down past my heel or sand/dirt in my socks while I play (and walk) between shots. Above ankle socks have a use on the golf course, while denim jeans don't seem to provide any advantage.

My comment was directed to your 100% having a bad time with jeans wearers.

100%? That's quite the guarantee.

You're profiling.

Also, my socks comment 100% whooshed well over your head.

Wearing jeans while golfing is like wearing jeans while skiing. While they may do the job, there is no way someone can say they stand up to the proper equipment. If you aren't willing to invest in just one pair of proper golf pants, then you clearly don't care about the game that much.

Sorry, but I disagree. Jeans in the colder off season is just fine. Although, I don't like them during the warmer months. Thin pants in Michigan's colder off season are uncomfortable.

Which accessory is used to look at other players equipment and clothing and judge them by it? ... because that is the one I'd pick to single out. Just poking fun of course but honestly you cannot or at least should not ever judge someone by the stuff they dress in or use on the course. The guy with the martini glass tees and ancient golf shoes might be a +3 and drive a lambo for all we know.

Pockets on shirts.

Shorts with socks above ankles.

I do this to keep sand and dirt from getting in my socks during the round if I'm wearing shorts.

If someone's wearing jeans on the course, 100% going to have a bad time.

Well if it's 100% bad time, then I'd say it's probably has more to do with you than the guys in the jeans.

Because I guarantee you I can find people wearing jeans you'll have a great time with. And that are very solid players too.

Well then can you ask them why? Why jeans? I have never met someone wearing jeans that has broken 100 on the course. Most have no idea that you shouldn't walk on someone's line on the green, don't understand you shouldn't talk or play music during someones swing, and their cell phone definitely won't be on silent.

Jeans just restrictive, hot, bunch up, and don't make sense on a golf course.

So the guy from Hawaii is suggesting that anyone wearing jeans is a hack?

Yesterday we teed off it was 38 degrees and windy. We played a sixsome as nobody else was near the golf course.

We all had jeans on, nobody shot anywhere near 100, and we finished in under 4 hours. (yours truly won $60). We were actually a sevenssome for a few holes as one latecomer joined us on 12.

Trust me, I'd rather be wearing shorts and no see socks. That said, I'll betcha I could adjust to your playing conditions faster that you to mine!

Profiling sure is fun though!

Are you Canadian?

But what about jeans with saddle shoes? Surely you have to agree that combination just screams hacker.

My buddy wears jeans to play after work.

He thinks I'm weird for changing into golf pants or shorts in the parking lot.

To each their own.

Is your buddy a hack?

Fitted hats.

What's wrong with those? Some guys feel more comfortable in a baseball hat or fitted golf hat. Not sure I see the problem here.

Nothing; I guess he doesn't realize that most of the current apparel companies make Flexfit / New Era fitted hats: Greyson, Matte Grey, TM, etc. RLX makes their own, and we haven't even mentioned all of the OEM equipment companies that all have fitted hats in their line. Heck; I see more of them than adjustable these days I think.

Carrying your golf bag like this. Also, wearing your glove from the car.

Every good player I’ve ever played with in my life that had a single strap bag carried it like this. When I was playing jr golf and just before the Izzo strap came out EVERYONE carried their bag like this. I would actually say the opposite of what you are saying. If you carry a single strap bag clubs forward you look more like a hack than if you carry it this way
