There are plenty of folks who hack their way around the course quickly... speed has nothing to do with ability in golf.

I'd disagree with that. I know plenty of single digit and a scratch golfers that are slow players. I also know plenty of high handicappers that are fast players that just want to go out, hit the ball and not cause a backup. Pace of play isn't an indication that they're a hacker. I don't like players that take a bunch of time walking around the whole green to read a 2 foot putt just to constantly miss it.

Walked on at a busy resort course yrs ago, starter said " you better keep up son " , i said " i'll be ok, thnx " the 3 guys in the 2 carts i' m with all had the latest and greatest clubs and clothes. We all hit and they roar off with one of the guy's shiny new Callaway's hitting the cement cart path. Ouch, forgot to strap em up. Long story short... none of them broke 100 and took almost 6 hours. I just shot the starter a WTF look after that ordeal. All 3 true hacks, looks can be deceiving.

 

Park me in the "hack" category too i guess, needed to spark the putting routine. Bought the ball marker mold thing at the GOLF R US superstore, had a "4 yds more" tee with it. Tried it liked it, eliminated one varible, tee height same every single time and the tee is durable as hell. I've noticed my tee shots don't fly any further but that's ok. They hit the fairway 12 of 14 times a round.

 

Oh... and that black strip on my ball looks great rolling towards the hole. Except i'm right handed/ left eye dominate and never get lined up straight. smh

I've got nothing bad to say about club brushes, as I use one, but an alternative is going to town on the grooves with a tee

Just play with the dirt in the grooves and change the dynamic loft a couple degrees at impact. You know, like a pro!

I play golf with two Surgeons that wear two gloves to protect their hands, and both are single digit golfers, that might save "your" life someday. Also, know a single digit golfer that uses iron head covers and carries a towel in his back pocket and employees 180 truck drivers across the country. I spose my point is, there are plenty of actual idiots and bad people in this world that do real harm.

 

I see no enjoyment in making fun of people because their choices are different or not like mine, and many are not hacks. I am NOT remotely PC either, just know fun from being an adolescent jerk.

I do this to keep sand and dirt from getting in my socks during the round if I'm wearing shorts.
