I used to be a softball junkie but kids got in the way. I have not played in five years. I am playing this spring

Thaat was me too. 25+ years ago while in college. Played on league teams in two towns 50 miles apart, four games a week. Tournament every weekend, sometimes played in two simultaneously, one for each team. We logged a lot of miles.

Haven't played in over 20 years now. Did happen access my old glove the other day though, sure brought back a lot of good memories.

I was slow pitch obsessed for a few years out of college. Once my team started marrying off and having kids it became increasingly difficult to get everyone to play. The year we shut it down was the year I started taking golf seriously enough to try and improve. Overall I miss the comraderie and fun I had playing softball but I'm much happier as a golfer. No phone calls begging a sub to play. Less overall time commitment. Easier to practice by yourself.

Not much in golf beats robbing a guy of a hard ground ball base hit with a diving play and perfect throw over to first though...

I'd like to play softball, but I was never an awesome baseball player. Ok power, decent fielding, not a guy who had speed to stretch singles into doubles. Are there places in leagues for guys that didn't eat, sleep, and play baseball up through college? Most guys that I've known who played were kind of jerks, always talking about it and how many home runs they're hitting with their $400 bats.

this is the exact reason I stopped playing serious travel softball after a few years. Not saying every guy was this guy but I ran into more of them than not. It's slow pitch softball not MLB. But to answer your question yes, plenty of room for you in a league. Find one that isn't super competitive that you will have fun playing in.

I still play a decent amount of slow pitch. Played fast pitch post high school, but got tired of it being me and all 70 year old guys :)

i was in a slow-pitch league at work. after we had an incident at one of the games due to too much drinking, management asked us to stop bring coolers full of beer/liquor to the dugouts. I decided not to play the following season since I liked it more for the social aspect. I didn't really play baseball growing up (basketball was my game), so I wasn't totally bummed about not playing. Also, a lot of the older guys kept getting hurt trying to relive their past sports glory. I think we lost two guys on our team to knee injuries one year when they were making the turn at 3rd too hard during the same game! Yeah, kinda dampened the mood a bit.

I play men's league and church league slow pitch one night a week each. I don't play many tournaments anymore though. Between softball leagues, the gym, and a Monday night golf league (lighted par 3 course) it takes up most of the weeknights. The perks of being under 30 and single.

I played a lot of fast pitch softball in my 20s and early 30s. Loved it. Played hard and then partied hard.

Team split up so I joined a slow pitch team. It was a really fun group. We didn't win every game but we made it a point to always win the parking lot. We couldn't leave until the after the opponents did even if someone had to do a beer run. It was working well until we got into an over 35 year old league and we had to play 35 year olds.

Going on my 8th year of slowpitch. Current team plays league ball (2 nights a week) and usually 1 tournament a month. It's fun, play with a bunch of guys I grew up with in little league and played baseball with at high school. I probably need to stop softball if I really want to seriously improve my golf game.

Currently swinging Utrip Mizuno Blackout and Mizuno Mamba with a Mizuno Nighthawk on the way. Tried many many bats, Eastons, Mikens, Demarinis, but always end up going back to my trusty 4 year old blackout.

I play both slowpitch and fastpitch. Haven't played much fastpitch in the last few years, but it's still fun to challenge yourself against good pitching. Overall, slowpitch is more enjoyable to me...games are quicker, you get more at bats, and there's more action when playing in the field. A fastpitch game with a dominant pitcher is quite boring.

What associations do you guys play?

What's your current bat of choice?

What's your favorite bat from the past?

Play ASA in the night League and Utrip in tournys, Bat of choice would be any bat from the Easton synergy OG line
