A whole day of interviewing candidates begins in 30 minutes. I'll have my laptop on me though, so maybe I'll still hop on here every now and then in an attempt to stay awake.

The quintessential professional, me. 😂

Ah heck.  Most people x themselves  out in the first 3-4 minutes. Tops.   So it’s not that hard.  Same exact rate of time for knowing you found 1 !    Hardest part is  staying  awake 🤣

I'm an animal lover period. You can crap on me a lot before I get mad but treat an animal badly and we have a problem.

Bingo.  Think the Earp scene in tombstone with the horse.   Except maybe 3 more lashes.  Then the quote “ i already got the guilty conscience.  Might as well have the money too”.    Bingo.

I doubt I could make it without animals.  Each one either showed up on my doorstep , was rescued on the  road.  Or my wife brought home from her travels.

nothing better than places that constantly have jobs open and you know the routine - give you a test with with parameters, output format with sample variables. figure out the math and write it.

use all the working code written by applicants, stitch it together and never hire anyone. until the word gets around. by then, they only have loose ends to clean up.

or as you go through interview after interview, up the chain, they’re picking your brain on your approach solving different things. teaching the project managers… haha.

Blade interview me for job I be like

I promise you , that requirement or anything similar said with conviction, would get you hired on the spot.  Just because I have to see more.   I have this theory.  I can teach a few people anything.  And a few people basic things. But most people- zero. Most people aren’t really trainable when it comes to being self sufficient .  If you’re not self sufficient , don’t have convictions, well you’re going to require a manager.  I detest playing manager.  So ….. A person who thinks that far out of pocket  is easy to teach. If you’re also outside of pocket 🤣…and I am.

I just realized I've only interviewed for one job my entire life. 😅

Holy crap! I've lived in 25 different houses or apartments, in 10 different states, interviewed for 12 jobs but I've only owned 11 vehicles.

Her color and pose there reminds me of our French Bulldog. Nothing interests him but food and getting his belly and ears rubbed. No one has to fear him because he treats strangers and other dogs as new friends. He will not bite but will lick someone to death

We used to have quite a few show up at our place in Gaffney. Being we lived on the frontage road on I-85 and close to 2 truck stops it happened. We always took care of them. Had a Poodle show up one time on sweet little dog. About a week later the Daddy of the family who lost the dog showed up. He had stopped at the Truck Stop to inquire. The owner who was a friend told him to go about 500 yards down the street to my combination race car shop and "farm". Sure enough he showed up and the dog ran to him. They were from Atlanta and the dog had gotten loose. His kids were devastated and he agreed to come back up and try to find her. He offered to pay me and I told him no way I just loved animals and this was not the first time that had happened. About 2 weeks later I got a call from Eddie who owned the truck stop. A LTL driver had shown up at the truck stop with a mixed pallet of dog food. I took the pickup and my son and I broke down the pallet. Come to find out the guy from Atlanta owned a distribution company. There was an envelope with a note saying thanks for taking care of the animals and an explanation

Edit--- I loosely considered my place a small farm since we had like 30 chickens, 4 or 5 cats, 3 residential dogs and 2 goats. Some of the neighbors called it "Stu's Zoo".

It would be really interesting me working for you with the quality of restoration and custom stuff you do. At best on body work my work would be meatball surgery. Oh yes I can hang a body on a race car but a body on a 67 Shelby Cobra with proper gaps etc I would have to be shown. But I can learn. Now if one gets on engine drivetrain and suspension I will admit I am very anal there. I am basically the same way on golf clubs. Now if one wants fancy clubs built with fancy BB&F ferrules etc do not come to me. Nothing wrong if someone wants that just not my cup of tea. Now if you want a club tuned with the correct weight and shaft flex for you then I am your man.

LOL I could see this at your shop (and this is in fun). Noo Nooo Noo I do not want Stu on a perfect body car. but he can build a good engine and drivetrain. If you want a dirt track car or Rat Rod then he is the man. But then with my mind always seeking fresh knowledge and skills I could learn if I wanted to.
