Don't know about your kids Sco but mine got way more interested in conserving heat and hot water after they left the nest and started paying their own bills. :)

Glad you are able to enjoy it out here in the West once in a while. I have played golf further down the valley on two courses on the US side. Nice mild country. Nice that you got your yard project done before you left as well. It looks great.

We had a nice Thanksgiving with all four daughters and their families. Mrs. scotee and her sis did a great job with her dad's 90th BD and family reunion. Over 75 attended from Montana, Florida , New Hampshire and California. It was cooler than we were hoping for but I got to play three rounds on two courses with my son in law, brother and nephew.

I had cataract surgery on my L eye on Tue. and will have the R eye done next week. Looking forward to seeing the ball and flagsticks again.

Hope the game went well, I will try again after Christmas but not too hopeful as my right shoulder is not healing, constant pain at present.

Thank you hopefully this next week the paint will be hard enough to varnish, amazing how some unrelated thing can throw your life into turmoil, since son broke his leg life has not been in balance. For some reason our whole existence has taken a step backwards and we are only now getting back into top gear. Painting and gardening are two things that have suffered most, don’t ask me why because I have no answers. ?

TOL: meant to ask that i thought it was summer in that part of the world and i see all these

guys at the Presidents Cup wearing sweater vests, long sleeve shirts, and several in a light jacket.

Was just curious as to the huge weather difference between where you are and Royal Melborne

I know it is a big area and was just wondering.

The presidents cup is being played in Melbourne which has a very peculiar weather pattern, the temp can drop from 100 to 60 in ten minutes. Just imagine being out there when that happens. DW lived in Melbourne when she visited Australia in the 60s and said it was like living in two different countries with the sudden drop in temperature. Cold fronts just appear and you go from summer to winter with no warning. It also goes the opposite way.

unfortunately only watched the last hour of play yesterday but some terrific golf, and saw Tiger act like a normal person when his partner sunk a long put to win the match on the 18th. This game seems to bring out the best in everyone, out most of today so will miss it but intend to watch all day Sunday. Not normally a golf watcher but this broadcast is being handled well, USA will win as they seem to handle pressure better, we shall see though.

Good job Sco, all it needs now is summer to Make the plants grow.

Have to post some picks of happy valley our attempt at a wild look. A bit sparse at the moment through lack of water.

Watching the Cup...these guys swing so easy, and the ball goes so far. The ladies swing easy also, but

their distance is closer to mine. But the pros on the mens side get ,what to me is just amazing distances.

Showing some pretty good golf !

One thing that surprised me today was the amount of short puts they missed, I must say some of the second shots where the tee shot went astray were very good, a few bunker shots could have been better as they hit the wall and bounced back. Overall terrific tournament with some exceptional golf played in a friendly atmosphere. It was nice to see them going for it and not playing too safe.

Greetings all... ghost from the past here writing from India (thanks to my VPN as India is BLOCKED by wrx).

First things first, I'm going to try to get in here more often... provided the wife and kids (and dogs and work) allow it.

Second, I got to play 5 rounds of golf this year! That is 5 more than last year!! Hasn't done much for the handicap in good or bad ways as my wedge game has been the savior when I got to play.

Third, there is a change in the bag! My driver of almost 8 years has been replaced! I finally found something that tested far superior and it was Cobra that won. I haven't played their gear in over a decade, but it was 10 yards longer than my driver on bad days and up to 20 longer in the simulator. I guess it was time to give it a retirement. :)

Hope all is well and I should be home by Christmas so I don't have to go all "cloak and dagger" to get on here.

Yeah... my driver was averaging about 255y TOTAL these days (I got weak flying all the time). Took the F9 out against it and found out that I was missing serious yard when hit well. On launch monitor I was able to get 150 ball speed, 13 degree launch, 2200rpm (I'm used to 2800-3100 rpm) 258y CARRY for 287 yds. I know those balls are garbage and beaten up, so I'm looking forward to some low spin, long running fun.

I have talked to pilots that have flown those big Ariel aircraft tankers over forest fires in the western USA. They tell me you would not believe the thermal air updrafts you get from those immense fires even up to 30,000. feet They tell me it will shove even those big planes up quite a bit

Yes when they go there is no stopping them they have to be left to burn themselves out, it is too dangerous for the aircraft water bombers to fly over. Only watched them happen on the news but that was scary enough.

Welcome Steele! Great to have you with us, consider yourself part of the family...

Gaucho, great to have you back again!

Sco, fabulous pics of your place...

We had a nice 46th anniversary today, I had the only ribs I could find nearby, but they were pretty good, actually so good they made my hair turn gray...
