Tried out the Arna just earlier today. For whatever reason, it sounds different than the anser 2 vault I tried. The Arna had a more satisfying clink to its sound. Soft and crisp at the same time. The anser sounded pretty muted to me.

With that said, I still love my 1966 TR, but I have to give the Arna a go. The sound at impact is addicting.

There have been a few mentions here already, but figured I would add my $0.02. Several months ago I bought a Voss on somewhat of a whim. LOVED the looks of it and rolled it successfully a few times at a local shop. After receiving it I still liked it, but just couldn't find my groove with it until... I changed the PP62 grip to the PP58 midsize. To put it simply this putter has come alive. The feel off the face is insanely better, and for some weird reason I feel like I put a more consistent stroke on it. For anyone who wanted to like these putters but couldn't manage to unlock the potential I highly suggest giving them a try with the PP58 mid.

The midsized PP58 is the closest to a "holy grail" putter grip I've ever been.

I think the PP58 midsize Cadence grip is a little better. It has the same dimensions as the original midsize PP58 but for me, the Cadence PP58 is a little less slippy, a little less rubbery and it has a slightly more tacky feel.

Ping is doing themselves no favors with their new non-tapered grips.

If people want them, just have the order the Superstroke as an option.

I called CS today. They checked with Pingwrx and I was told that it is tour only. Perhaps a one-off will slip out from time to time, but it is not available for order.

On an unrelated note, the Voss is back ordered until July.

Thanks for the info.

I've tried 3-4 grips on my Vault. For some reason, the Lamkin Jumbo Black I just put on it makes it feel incredible. Better than the traditional Pingman, PP58, stock Superstroke Ping imitation, and Lamkin SINK. "Once you go black, you never go back" I guess.

Just got a Ping Vault Voss platinum, with a pp60 grip. Always had pp58 grips on my Ping putters, but wanted to try the pp60. i was very disappointed with the feel of the putter, or lack of it, replaced it with a pp58. Now a totally different putter, the feel is as good as any milled putter i have tried, and it looks really good too.

Just a few days ago, I planned on getting a Vault Anser 2 in slate but I couldn't get passed the square and boxey shape of the Anser 2 and the Voss doesn't really suit my eye. Really wish the Vault came in the traditional Anser shape.

A lot of people have said on here alright that the Vault putters totally transform once a midsize pp58 grip is installed on them.

Have to thank you guys. I recently bought a Ping Vault Voss and it felt great on the floor in the store. Then took it out to the putting green and couldn't get the pace down for the life of me. Saw this thread, swapped my grip out for the PP58 a couple hours later and now this is the best putter I've ever rolled. Thanks again!

I absolutely love the Voss I have, platinum with white paint, 3* loft and 1 degree flat, PP58 midsize. It fits me like a glove.

I have gone from an average to below average putter to above average. Making more of the longer putts and the speed control is terrific.

Ping did itself no favors by using their "superstroke" grips on this putter line.

Is the general consensus that the PING Vault putters are firmer than the Sigma G line?

I wouldn't say much, but noticeable, especially when you get the Vault's stock grip changed

Thanks for this. How would you compare the PING vault

blades to the PING 1966 TR Anser in terms of feel and softness/firmness?

I have had both, still use the Voss Vault.

To me, the feel is smoother and more refined on the Vault. Milled v. Cast, which seems to make a difference to me. The TR milling is different also, but I cannot comment on how that might be affecting the feel.

Would you say that the Vault is closer feeling to the Sigma G line or the TR Anser 1966? I can't tell with the Vault because of the big superstroke-style stock grip kills all the fell. I know the Vault line has similar grooves to the Sigma G line but I know that the Vault is milled while the Sigma G putters have inserts.

I have rolled the Sigma G Anser with a midsize pp58 and I didn't think it was anything special. No one near me has a Vault with a midsize pp58 grip so I can't get a proper feel for it. I would be taking a $250 gamble to get a Vault just to see how it feels which rationally, I shouldn't do.
