Maybe I'm dumb for not knowing this, but while the mallets and Anser styles are made of different materials, are the faces made out of stainless steel on both? If the mallets are aluminum, is it impossible to make a stainless steel face on the Oslo? The feel is just subpar on the mallets.

 

The body of the mallets is all milled out of aluminum. 5)3 only steel part on the Oslo and Bergen is the plate underneath - mostly for weighting purposes. Highly unlikely Ping would do a steel face insert for the mallets, especially since all the putters are 100% milled with no inserts.

Darn. They should. The feel is just too clinky and metallic.

I know a ton of people love the big grips but I took off the original grip that came with my Bergen and replaced it with just a cheap pistol grip from golf pride and it completely transformed it into the putter I was hoping for. Very solid feel from a otherwise great putter. Ping doesn't mess up many things but I think it was a mistake putting those grips on the Vault line.

Ping usually pretty good to us lefties but this one has me nervous. Don't think I have ever seen a flow neck mallet in left handed and really want to try this one. Any idea if they will be making one?

Was thinking of doing that too, but the women's Arna is not stainless steel and I think it's an insert. I tweeted Ping about the Arna, but no response yet. Might try to contact a Japanese seller where they are $350.

Yup, I was poking around on Rakuten myself. Most places add another $25 or so for shipping to the US as well.

I tried a number of putters at PGATSS last week including Bettinardis and Scotties, and the one that I enjoyed the most was the Voss. Great putters!

I have really begun to love my Bergen. Some have thought it feels a little tinny but I don't agree. The Ping Sydney had a very tinny sound and feel but it felt nothing like the Bergen. And if you can't line the Bergen up, nothing is gonna help you.

Never used it, but I know others here have with decent success. It's a marketplace for sellers so you'll have to look at the ratings of the individual sellers to see who is good or not. If I ever use it, I'll be sure to use Paypal or a credit card I know I'll have recourse options with if the transaction goes south, no matter how reputable the seller.

Not sure. It says 37 inches long and the price is $299. May just have the release date confused. At least that is what I'm hoping. There is a lefty option too so I'm pretty excited.
