Bags with 4-way or 14-way dividers?

I prefer a stand bag with 14 slots. Golf is one of the few things I'm OCD about. It makes it easier to keep track of clubs for me. I bought a Sun Mountain 4-5 14 way bag earlier today. I thought about the Titleist 14 way, but the lack of full length dividers was a deal breaker for me.

I had to replace my Nike Air Hybrid that's 2 years old. One of the seams that the straps is sewn into tore recently. Very disappointed. Really liked the Nike and I'm pretty upset about it messing up, but I know the Sun Mountain is a great bag.

Love my Nike Air Hybrid II 14-way stand bag. Grabbed one right before they went out of business on the equipment side and it is the perfect stand bag. Caters to my OCD tendencies, has tons of pockets, and looks cool. It's not the lightest bag in the world but I try to use my Clicgear when walking so it's not a big deal.

4(I have 5)-way stand. Tried 14 way for a couple rounds and hated it. Its loud, heavier and looks dumb.

P.S. I have zero OCD tendencies. I like a little chaos.

Anyone know, does the sun mountain 4-5 (either 4 or 14 way) sit well on a Clicgear 3.5? Currently have a stand bag and a heavy cart bag and would prefer a hybrid style bag if possible to replace them both, primarily for trolley use.

In my experience the SM Four 5 14 way would only sit straight with minimal rotation if I was using the Clicgear bag cozy.

This year's winning pick - Exotics Extreme 3 cart bag.

Right at home on my 3 wheeler every time out.

14 Full length dividers. Pockets for every blasted thing needed and just solid as a rock.

Stores like a big SM with a smaller footprint.

I like my 14 way Sun Mountain hybrid bag. It lines up the clubs in a stadium seating kind of way so clubs don't clank together too much. Easy to locate each club when I need it.

Hated 14 way. Too much clanking and chatter when walking or driving. Too much time searching for that clubs own spot. I prefer 6 or 7 but 4 is all sun mountain does unless you go to a smaller bag than a 3.5.

I don't like both 4 or 14 either and find 6,7 or 8 to be ideal.

I actually have a bag with a 15 way divider. The extra divider is for Ian Woosnam's driver.

that could cost ya a tournament

A couple days ago I picked up a Sun Mountain Tour Series cart bag with a 4 way divider, and I like it much better than the my previous Sun Mountain Four 5 stand bag with 14 dividers.

With the 14 dividers I found that I was struggling at times on the course to get some clubs into various slots while it was tied onto a power cart or push cart since parts of the bag which are secured onto the cart, push the bag in on the sides and narrow some divider openings.

This is frustrating and affects my mental game when I'm struggling to pull a club or put it back -- especially the putter which has a thicker grip.

The other issue is trying to find that particular clubs empty slot on return, as it bothers me when the clubs aren't in their particular slot. The 4 way divider alleviates this mental anguish for me haha.

Well, late to the discussion . . .

I prefer Ogio bags (Edge/Ozone Stand Bags) with slots for woods/hybrids (4) and a putter slot, three iron separators = eight compartments. I like the protection for graphite shafts that the irons/wedges don't need. So why not a 14, well I walk most courses and the extra weight of 14 slots makes a difference.

That said I have an Ogio Nexxus 14 way (Stand Bag) I take when I know I am riding in a cart.

4 way stand bag for me. Like to walk so cart bag is out. 14 dividers adds too much weight, never seems to organize the clubs well, the balance is off when carrying, etc. And I rarely carry 14 so end up with extra empty slots. 4 way is perfect for me- woods and putter up top, mid irons in middle, wedges in bottom.

I agree. I think Ogio woode system is one of the best out there.

Buying a new bag and trying to make up my mind between 14 and something else. Some interesting comments here. I walk with a push cart some, about 25% of the time, and 75% I ride. I tried an older 14 bag (Nike) and did notice the chatter when walking. Surprisingly, it did seem more difficult to put the clubs back in the 14 bag because of clubs hanging over the slots and not being able to see the slot. But it could have been the bag. Perhaps, the newer bags have addressed this problem.

I prefer a cart bag with 14 way dividers plus a putter well. That's a total of 15 slots. I keep a DrizzleStik in one of the slots.

14 seems like a good idea, just in my opinion and there isn't an option, I prefer 6 (or Ogio with wood irons separate), good amount of separation and like clubs loose so I can pull and put back in as 14 just seemed a little much for me and a PIA, didn't protect anything much more being all separate; ironically I think they are more prone to chatter while walking, maybe in a cart it may work better...but I've always like 6 way irons can lay against each other, so would vote 4...stand is a must for me as it works on both cart or walking.

Thinking about getting the C-130 Stand Bag from sun mountain. I like my cart bag but miss the stand functionallity at the range. If anyone has experience I’d love to hear it

Good bag, really solid. I think mine is the 2015 model. What I don’t really like is no putter well and just a single strap. It’s going up for sale this week.
