Tour issue gear

So this might be a dumb question, but where do all you guys get all this tour issue gear?

It's all over Ebay. Places like ProClubsDirect have alot of TI gear as well. It's not as hard to find as you would think.

There are a couple gents out there that sell it and are reputable.

 

Tough sometimes. If you want something very specific, you may have to wait it out. It's not like these guys can call up the Big Guys and say, "I need X of these, X of those, X of them," etc.

 

It's fun though.

 

Cool stuff sometimes too. I just picked up an Apex Hybrid 16° 1H .... Should be interesting! LOL!

Just remember, tour issue gear goes much longer and straighter than "normal people" clubs do. Buying tour issue gear may throw your gaps in your bag out of whack and leave you obliged to rearrange your entire bag with more tour issue gear to make it all work. Or, worst case scenario, make you so good at golf that it starts to not be fun anymore.

How exactly that is done in a mass produced product I dont know.

I know the woods tend to be a bit more open so it would suggest an different manufacturing process.

 

Do they have an entirely different set of dies and casts or do they just select the clubs that come off of the line that have better specs

For the ones that are the same as retail they'll COR test the heads of the drivers (or whatever the test is now), they'll weigh the heads, etc. If you get them off eBay they'll often have a sticker on them that give you the weight, exact loft, lie angle, and they'll have the little cross on the face from the COR test. But they're just pulling those off the assembly line along with the retail ones.

 

Some of them are clubs that haven't come to retail (like the titleist D4 before they released it, or the titleist 970 fairway from back in the day, or the circle T scottys). Those will be made for the tour only.

 

Plus the tour issue stuff isn't covered by warranty, which is fun when you get something that breaks.

They were gone this morning. Not sure what happened. Had an item bookmarked. Clicked on it and it directed to a generic search page. Searched on their name and it said it was no longer registered. Glad they are back. Seems they mostly have shafts up now. Most of their TM tour issue gear is no longer listed. Strange.

going to coast 1,500-3,000 but the real question is, is it worth it?

from what i got from some shops that it’s pretty much the same thing off the rack but has tour stamping and stickers or weights that’s going to look different. idk if that’s true or not but the face could be lil hotter then what we could get at the stores. you could always find tour parts for t and stick it on your clubs but if you want one that’s complete. better start saving some money cause it’s not cheap

Raising this thread from the dead. Anyone bought from niblick the last couple of years? Just received a M5 Tour in the mail and it definitely looks like the regular M5 but with the M5 Tour carbon fiber sticker glued on instead. Seems like a counterfeit
