One of the ESPNs has on Battle of the Network Stars. It's so dumb I can't even explain. NFL Network...2016 Seattle Seahawks highlights. Seen it. Bagger Vance? Haha. Really? Again?! Big 3 Basketball on FoxSports. Horrible. Needs to go away quickly.

 

Guess I'll flip bewtween CNN and FOXNEWS for the next three hours until I'm ahead of the commercials, and I can devote my time to fastforwarding x1 through another golf tournament. I'd really like to watch one of these live just once....instead of always missing so much of the essence of the tournament by my heavy fastforwarding thumb.

This is correct. You can't set up a Open course like a US Open. If the wind picked up the course would be unplayable. The Open is so much about the weather. Good weather will always mean goodnscores on almost any of the courses in the rota.

 

The greens will always be slower and the rough is what it is that year. If it rains then it will play softer.

Speith hits 3w misses it slightly left but carrys them when mcilroy hit iron into them. Mind boggling decision to hit iron there with there still being room 30 odd yards past the bunkers. Decisions like that are why he does so well his course management is fantastic. I also find him annoying.

What I find annoying, for no logical reason, is how "we" parred the 8th...I can't really argue with some of the logic if I sit and think, it still annoys me though. Great golfer, looks like he will walk it unless he blows up. Only Saturday though loads can happen.

This is the only time of year we typically get to see touring professionals play like us and when the course conditions don't lend themselves to that, it is disappointing. The last 2 majors have been crap. Maybe that changes tomorrow.
