Based on the response above, will be playing it first week of June, looks like $100?? Honestly can not tell, assume worth playing then for the price.

I contacted the course and the posted rate of $117 online is the only deal around. I know other courses in the area are moving to winter rates. Like Mid Pines is going down to $85 around that time.

 

For someone who has not played Tobacco Road is it worth the $117 in mid November?

 

Absolutely. I wouldn't pay that rate regularly, but if you've never seen it and won't be back soon, I would pay $117 for it. The course is just so different and dramatic from any other course. Totally worth it in my opinion if this is a one time trip.

I have been fortunate to visit the area annually, but I have always just stayed at mid pines/pine needles as its $139/night for room and unlimited golf. I haven't made time to get away and play Toboacco road, but this time I do have a free day. Looks like I have to suck it up and pay the rate to experience.

I used to get the Sandhills golf capital card just for the TR rates. I want to say the card was $50 and then it was about $50 to play TR, it may be more these days though. It pays for itself in the first use.

February is usually the coldest month here. But last year it was fairly mild.

 

Saw this too. Great deal. Penciling in a few weekends in february and will look at weather a week or so out - if good will book (5 hour drive).

Last Easter was fairly quiet in the Pinehurst area, not many guys can take a golf trip away from family on that weekend. I suggest you give them a call, or look at their website. If you were to actually do that yourself, you'd see that there are a huge number of tee times available for a single, and a still significant number if you're taking a foursome there..

I will be there on Easter Sunday in the early morning. Can’t wait to play this course! Hopefully it’ll be in really good shape, too. Definitely plenty of tee times available and the nice lady manager on the phone said it’s never been busy there for the few Easter’s since she’s been there.

Course was in decent to good condition I'd say, greens were awesome. Played well but got caught on the wrong side of ridges on a few holes. Also, the small bunker greenside at 2 is concrete underneath.

There were 1 or two we saw from tobacco rd - so...I think so? Honestly, we didn't ask. There was also one forecaddie that was apparently hired from a 3rd party.

Tobacco Road offers caddies through a separate company called Caddiewalk. I believe Caddiewalk also services Dormie Club, Mid Pines and Pine Needles.

Off topic... didn't like Tobacco Road. Then again I don't like any Strantz courses. I would like to play it again because of the new greens. I love the new type of bermuda grass greens. When I played there they still had bent.
