My favorite Scotties of all time

Studio design 1 from the original series for a blade. The 1.5 is also excellent.

The Santa Fe is my favorite answer Scotty.

I have probably been through about 20 Cameron's, mostly the carbon ones. The pro plat to this day is one of the better putter series ever released. I pretty much hate all Scotties since the original studio designs.

My personal favorite is this art of putting oil can Newport that the custom shop refinished in pro platinum.

I have a Catalina that was originally Gun Blue, I had it refinished in Pro Platinum, however now I wish I hadn't as they simply stopped making raw carbon putters for the general public. I think that's why people are buying up older ones now. Still that's a nice stick.

This one for me.

more pics?/story?

1997 Newport Beach oilcan; 1 of 100 made for the tour. That's a pretty framed photo given to me by TCC and PT founder and friend, Doug Hardman. For the 2006 PGA show, he had a series of art quality photos of putters owned by several collectors presented to them. I was the lucky owner of the putter in the picture, a mint original (may have still had GIP).

Glad you like it.

I can understand that but I have been playing this putter since 1998 and it would never have made it this far without the change in the finish. Way back when you could send those oil can putters back to Titleist and for $60 they'd refinish it, regrip it and maybe even reshaft it if you wanted. I used to do that every year or two until the Cameron Custom Shop opened and the same work cost $240. I made the decision to do that once but I changed to finish so I could prevent the rusting that naturally occurred. I was not gonna pay $240 every year or so to maintain a putter. Now, if it was a collector's piece I would have left it in tbe original oil can.

Hard to pick just one. The Circa 62 #2 (the original yellow accented one is what I have but they are both slick), the original California Monterey (honey-dip finish), and the Pro Platinum Newport 2 are all pretty sweet though.

Great poll! There are so many.. I've had 40+ Camerons. Used to get all the special editions etc. All the Napas are nice (The Napa Valley is so good looking!), the Coronado 1/8 platinum from 1996 that Jim at Tablerock bought from me was awesome too. But my favorite one is probably the 1995 1/500 Laguna. The feeling when striking it pure is different from all the others. As is the sound. The thin topline and dual sight lines really suits my eye. None of the Lagunas after the original did it for me.

I had always wanted a Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless Center Shaft Prototype going back to 2002-2003 but they were ungodly expensive (>$900 in most cases). Lost touch with Scotty's when I was an assistant professional and was under contract with Callaway/Odyssey but after getting out of the golf business I was free to do whatever I wanted so I went all-in on Titleist equipment again on my own dime. I bought a Select Newport 2.6 and putted great with it for four years.

I then had a most unfortunate (and completely absurd) accident in June when my golf clubs caught on fire in the back of my buddy's pickup, presumably from a flicked cigarette butt that got lodged in my bag on the interstate. It was quite the scene putting out a full bonfire that was going in the cab of my friend's truck and ultimately most of the clubs were salvageable although some needed re-shafting. My Cameron was, um, probably not fit for play any longer (and my new JYD headcover was completely incinerated without a trace of it ever existing) so I had to search for a new putter. I ran across a listing for the exact SS Center Shaft I had always wanted and for a change it wasn't excessive in cost so I landed my dream putter by a complete stroke of bad and then really good luck.

Within a month the putter had paid for itself when I made everything for our team in a two-day Calcutta event that netted us about $1000 each after our expenses. Thank you golf gods!!!

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
