OP, did you look at some of the specials the RTJ reservation team has on their website? I think you could get a better rate. They have a $205 unlimited special, so you could play 36 holes for the same $205 rate, or get a round at RB and a round at Oxmoor for $207. Both are good deals.

Spring Unlimited Special

Play unlimited golf with cart and unlimited range balls.

Starting at $110 per person per day March 21, 2018 – May 8, 2018.

Starting at $113 per person per day May 9, 2018 – May 30, 2018.

Valid at Ross Bridge starting at $205 per person per day March 21, 2018 – May 30, 2018.

Spring Magic for $207

Special includes one round of golf at Oxmoor Valley, one round of golf at Ross Bridge, cart fees and range balls.

Valid March 21, 2018 – May 30, 2018.

Ross Bridge is an incredible golf experience, but I couldn't justify that price for 18 holes with cart. I'm in AL a lot and buy a Trail Card every year. I'm sure I paid a premium vs. all of the other Trail stops barring one even using my card, but it wasn't a triple digit figure. Something just doesn't sound right to me on your quote.

First of all don't play the judge twice. Second, you don't need to worry about playing the "3rd" course at Grand National..it is a par 3 course and while fun if it costs extra spend it at Farm Links. I would take that deal mentioned and play Ross Bridge and one at Oxmoor for sure. IMO Farm Links and Grand National are a must...the others get in where they fit in.

What moonshine said. The short course at Grand Natty is a great course for filling an afternoon when you don't have time to play one of the other two. For that kind of money I would play Farmlinks twice from different tees or play one (or both) the courses at Oxmoor. Ross Bridge is really nice, but not that much better than the other RTJ Courses nearby.

As far as playing the Judge twice; nope!

Our crew played the top 5 on the trail this past April...and to a man...RB stole the show when paired with grand links and lakes, judge and cambrian. Not sure what we paid for RB specifically....it was a package...but it's a must play when in the area. Maybe pair with a cheaper trail course to help offset the sticker shock?

Played the front 9 after 3 last Thursday for $46. It was actually play all you want after 3 but we didn’t start until 4:30 and got 9 in before 6:30 when it got dark.

Love the layout.

Hate the ball marks on the greens. Holy hell. Was literally some of the worst I had seen this year. Slow greens too. Was expecting super fast.

I'd say it's worth about half of the quoted green fee. I played 36 at RB last summer (on a weekend) and remember paying $150+ for each round. I had a little sticker shock and asked if any discounts were available for staying at the resort, replay, etc..but the only option was to get a RTJ player card which didn't seem to help that much.

The course was nice and fun to play-pace of play was great. As mentioned earlier, the greens were responsive and consistent, but definitely on the slower side.

Looking to do the rtj trail in Alabama this upcoming April. Is Ross bride worth the $ 205 greens fee? Going to play all 3 at grand national 2 at capital hill and all day at farmlinks. We will be staying in Jacksons gap Alabama. Thanks

Nope, no way.

oxmoor is my home course ... have played rb a couple of times ... it is very well maintained, so the greens are both smooth and fast, the bunkers have really good sand, etc ... high quality where maintenance is concerned ... but the layout is nothing special ... a few quirky holes ... think farmlinks is about $120, play all day plus lunch ... that's a better deal ...

Stayed there this week. Greens looked good all things considered. Didn’t get to play tho. All work on this trip.

Played all day at Ross Bridge yesterday for $207 + tax. First time at the course. The course was some-what busy, but managed to play 59 holes (and still had about 25 minutes of daylight). Here are my overall impressions:

  • Course was very challenging. It didn't help that my yardages were off coming from Arizona. The final 2 holes were particularly challenging going straight into the wind. The weather was poor much of the day. Started in high 30's, and only a few hours in the 60's. Didn't take off my long pants all day.
  • It's a big ball park. Not only does the course have plenty of length, but it also very wide. Even though there are trees everywhere, most were not in play.
  • Tees and greens were great, nearly perfect. The collars are the greens were in muddy transition, which made it tough to chip. They put a lot of water on the course, which gave you no roll on the fairways. I am not a particularly high-ball hitter, and was making large marks on every drive. This really lengthened out the course. Given the wet conditions, I had a high number of side-hill lies, where normally I would expect the ball to feed down. For the price, I was a little disappointed by course conditions.
  • I liked the variety of holes, many of which were very scenic. The course became easier once I knew where you couldn't hit it.
  • Pro shop, grille, surroundings, were all well-kept and stocked, although I don't give that much value.

The course was CTP until 9:30. By that time, I was on hole 13, and the cart paths are not close to the fairways, so it was a PITA.

So was it worth it? Probably yes considering how much golf I played. I have not played any other golf on the trail so I have no comparisons. No way it was worth $165 to just play 18 with the conditions and weather. I would come back in warmer and firmer conditions.

We played it last October and it's a great layout. I was not able to find any discounts prior to our trip but a lady in the Ross Bridge Pro Shop said that the Trail has a 20% AAA member discount, which she gave us for our round. That would knock it down to $164.00
