Rumor is that Patrick Reed may end up with some Artisan Golf equipment in his bag. That would be truly going back to his roots - working with the guys that made his clubs prior to his 2013 switch to Callaway from Nike.

With no club deal currently, it would certainly be a good time for him to see what they can do for him. It is always very interesting to me to see what these guys play when they don't have any contractual obligations.

Westwood to Nike is a weird one! Always and forever been FootJoy. He had been wearing Under Armour trousers after his deal with Dunlop expired.

3rd in SG putting and 7th around the greens last year. Yes, people still wear RLX.

 

Honestly I love the RLX shirts. So comfortable.

 

I wear RLX polos, but their collars are bad. They don't stay down. They don't curl up, but they don't look normal. I think that's RLX's intention for some reason.

 

I always thought it was my terrible ironing skills that resulted in them looking like that!

what is the typical equipment contract like for the average PGA tour pro?

 

i'm assuming it covers unlimited support service for clubs including balls for those like Titleist,Bridgestone,TM etc.. who also carry balls but what if you only like to use their clubs but not anything else in their line..

 

There are a few contracts out there that seem like an À la cart for what the player likes. Kind of sounds like Dufner might be doing that. But the manufacturers that make golf balls do seem to try to push their golf ball into that contract. We have certainly seen some strange contracts over the last few years and I think that will continue. Less and less full bag deals. And there so many outside of golf sponsors that can help sweeten the deal. It doesn’t have to all come from the golf OEMs

Decent chance that they sent him something to post. Doesn't happen a lot but you do see guys with curated content. DJ seems to have a lot of posts planned for him.

I can appreciate a post thanking Mizuno for the years of support. But #nothingfeelslikeamizuno seems odd if you're now under contract with another manufacturer that makes forged irons.

I don't understand all the fuss about Greyson. I've worn Ralph Lauren for the last 10 years, Polo the first 5 then RLX since then, so was looking to switch to Greyson; their marketing campaign is very good (Check the Hoffman video on their website if you haven't seen it it's fantastic), their off the course stuff is very good and different, their trouser line is so so but their polo shirts are abysmal, no varierty, lack of colour and style, no obvious combinations that match their trousers and shorts.

A recent 'Undercover Tour Pro' article said he was only getting $50k per year for his apparel contract. That's hard to believe. Reed is currently sitting at #24 in the world. What do you think Nike has to pay for a guy like that?

Makes sense though, a lot of brand exposure if everyone is wearing their gear. And it's good gear, I really like their shoes.
