Taylormade TP Red Ardmore Putters

I continue to check back in this forum for feedback and reviews on these putters, but am surprised there isn't much out there yet...

 

I've dropped into several golf shops while traveling for work over the last 2-3 weeks as well, and none of them have these yet.

 

Is Taylormade having issues rolling these out to retail? The Ardmore 2 and Ardmore 2 "L" neck have most of my interest.

I believe they were pushed back to the end of November. Not sure if it was a production issue or what. Some may have got theirs direct from TMs limited stock.

I finally got mine, and it’s great. I’ve had the spider black since last year, but I’ve been searching for something prettier but equal in performance. The Ardmore shape is more appealing to me, and it’s nice and compact. It has slightly more offset than the spider, but so far that hasn’t been a problem. Ideally I prefer 1/2 -3/4 offset. I can’t say a single negative thing about the Ardmore 3 at this point. Other than the red, I wouldn’t change a thing at this point.

My Ardmore 2 (face balanced) putter kicked my RSX V-Liine Fang out of the bag. It is that good!

The Golf Galaxy here in Phoenix has one, but it’s the L that I really want to see.

My local PGA Superstore has the Red Ardmore, Red Chaska and the Balboa in stock but that's it from the new TP Collection. Haven't seen any of the other putters in but there is a ton of Spiders including the Red with sightline. It'd make sense then if there is a bit of a back order on these and they will be in stock later this month.

I have seen most of them in local golf stores. To me, they have great feel, balance, looks, and performance. I am partial to a little toe hang to complement a slight arc in my stroke, which the Ardmore 3 & Ardmore 2 LN have. To me, these are an attractive option in putters.

I am wondering what others think of the Red color as opposed to the black?

I don't mind the red color at all. The head shapes and designs are the most appealing part to me. Just wish my local shops would put these in stock already. I'm not a fan of buying any equipment sight unseen.

That Balboa still has my attention. Definitely need to try it when spring arrives.

I purchased and Ardmore 2 L neck at the local golf store and got a $30 discount as well for Black Friday. I have been practicing with it at home on my indoor putting green and it really feels great. What I especially like about it is how it feels so comfortable at address. Seems to generate confidence. I think there is somewhat of a love-hate relationship with the red look, and I'm one of those who really like it.

I putted around with the L neck in the store yesterday and really like it for balance and alignment but I'm one that doesn't like the red or the feel of the insert. Would love it in black with a firmer insert.

strange, that's why I like it for the insert, it is somewhat firm feeling to me. It "features a gunmetal 6061 aluminum Pure Roll face insert to provide truer roll and preferred harmonics". This type of aluminum is very tough and durable creating a firm feel on the face. This is one of the reasons I chose it over the Odyssey o Works Style, because it feels a little bit firmer when struck. To each their own, each has to be happy and confident with the look and feel of their putter.

Exactly. Now I made a lot of 10 to 12 foot puts in the store so I'm sure I could get used to it but would be fantastic in black or dark grey. I'm not a big fan of the o works insert either as it feels too bouncy to me but I love the headshape of the Ardmore and the v line fang. Make a lot of mid range puts in the store with that head shape in a plumbers neck so I guess I'll just have to keep trying.

I have an odyssey Big T VLine putter in excellent condition if you're interested?

Bought the center shafted Ardmore. Really liking it but just barely smacked a wedge into the head my second round with it and took off a chunk of “red”.

 

Not really thrilled with that.

ouch, love my 2Lneck a lot. Maybe TaylorMade can repair it for you?

That stinks. I play a TM Ghost Stingray CS putter and have to be super-vigilant about keeping it covered when carrying it to the green w/wedges.

 

Really like the Ardmore CS. It and the Callaway 2M CS are nice options now.
