Here's a little known Dan Jenkins fact. Dude could play. For example, to pick on someone I don't particularly like anyhow, Leadbetter has never been better than a 4. A young Dan Jenkins could've given him two a side and waxed him. He was always self-depreciating in his writings, but I think--besides from the obvious Texas connection--his playing ability was one of the reasons Hogan would talk to him. A good guy by all accounts too. RIP.
