I'm normally a big supporter of capitalism/free market, etc. but this is kind of the lowest form of it, lol.

Putting in a lot of effort to make low margins anyways. After shipping and ebay fees, what are they clearing? $10 per pair of shoes?

They should put their energy into something more wortwhile and let us enjoy the discounts 😄

This is the purest form of capitalism. The resellers have have found inefficiencies in the market and are taking advantage of it. Sounds like you want price controls or other non-capitalist things

This is hilarious, you think guys are only making $10 on $150 nikes?

right?!?!

so people who have seen them 24.99-29.99. Average (quick glance) at sold items is probably about $70-$75. After fees and shipping (if its free) conservatively id guess $30 per shoe.  7 pairs is $210 profit. Again, if youve got an “in” thats easy money. Lets say 3 hours of time listing, packing, shipping assuming you dont have the postal carrier pick up and you goto the post office. Thats still the $70/hr

id wager a good amount that golf shoes are not their only items for sale.

Edit: i looked up a random seller on ebay. 12 pairs of airmax 270’s, 1 pair of og zit, jerseys, shorts, gloves, other cleats. 32 pairs of other shoes.

seller probably makes enough to make a living for a few hours of “work”. Dont hate the playa, hate the game

I'm pretty familiar with the reselling world, you gotta 1. network with other resellers so you know what's out there without having to source yourself everyday and 2. Have the knowledge to know what is a moneymaker and what isn't. Obviously, golf shoes are moneymakers, so they sell out quickly. Plenty of smart, hardworking people out there trying to make a few bucks, im all for it.

you just randomly insert $150. That’s hilarious.

the shoes we are discussing routinely sell on eBay for $50-$75.

$10 profit may be an exaggeration, but not by much. The point is, you're not getting rich driving to Ross to buy shoes for $31+ after tax then reselling them for ~$50-$75 before Ebay fees, Paypal processing fees, shipping fees.

I've sold thousands of units of my own product on eBay. I'm not speaking from 0 experience. You?

It's difficult to make good money online selling products even if your margins are 5X what they have with their shoe reselling.

If it's just a fun hobby for them then cool. I just think it's kind of a low level activity.

No, I don't.

I support their right to do what they're doing.

I'm moreso saying it's just a relative waste of time and kind of a pathetic form of trying to make money.

It lacks creativity and ingenuity, which are the things that actually drive capitalism. This is a form of leaching off of the economy. Like scalping tickets.

airmax 270’s are indeed $150 retail. Next% are $160. If you purchased at full retail msrp. Doesnt sound like they were random with that number…

Your numbers are still wrong, obviously it is economical for people to do this or they wouldn't. Your point that its too "low level" is just your opinion, don't act like its fact.

"Flipping" and the resell culture has ruined opportunities for people who actually value/use the products being sold. The amount of videos on social media I've seen showing some dudes buying 10 pairs of Nike's no one wants at Marshalls and "selling" them on amazon for "profit" is insane. The thing people have to remember is that you can hoard up all the stock in the world but you still need to have something people are going to want to buy and has demand. With all social media & "influencers" give off this facade that it's a profitable side business which it can be but like I said you still need to buy stuff that will sell.

I think that's where these flippers are at right now, buying shoes that are $20-$40 pre tax and attempting to flip them for profit. I've seen people trying to charge full retail or just under retail for a shoe that you could find if a flipper hasn't found already for $20-$40 at your local Ross/Burlington. I know stuff isn't moving because I've seen shoes on OfferUp/Marketplace sit online for long periods of time and even check in with the sellers and they're holding their prices.eBay is listing ZIT NXT% at $50 so the profit at most can be 20$ but as mentioned before it has to actually sell.

As a consumer I'm looking for the best deal but my first choice to buy is never the eBay/OfferUp/Marketplace seller it's not even an option. You're missing the option to actually return to a storefront and possibly claim some warranty if applicable. You're not getting the guarantee that the product is authentic and backed by customer support when buying from a reseller. There's so much that you don't get buying from a reseller only to save like 10-20 bucks because I promise they're trying to make money and we're trying to save money.

I think the reason were seeing so less now at Ross/Burlington aside from the actual resellers is that some companies are keeping their stock. You can actually get a discount at a reasonable price from Nike/Adidas/Dicks they're having sales a lot lately so me personally I'd rather spend 70 and get free shipping with Nike then spending 50 with 12$ shipping on eBay and have an actual guarantee on my product.

At the end of the day consumers want the best deal and we're actually getting it from these brands that we love and all of you resellers/flippers just stop and get a real job. 🙂

well said but you think reselling and flipping is not a real job 🙂 this resellers probably making more what most of people here.

reselling is not just sneakers or what you get from ross or other discount store. this resellers go after everything from Taylor Swift, masters ticket, limited LV, tifanny, pokemon cards, trading cards, limited scottys, tour issue stuff, etc, i mean everything.

I highly doubt it.

I know they sell more than just sneakers there's so many dumb people in this world who have no problem overpaying on a putter, TSwift nosebleeds, and pokemon cards. Don't get me started on FunkoPops. I used to work at target in college and all the manchildren who used to lurk the store at opening was insane.

I think bottom line is we all just want the best deal and the flipping culture and resellers ruin it for everyone to make measly profits.

Don’t eBay sellers have to claim income on taxes now past a certain $$$?

They were going to in 2022 but newly elected congress gave a reprieve. For now, the limit is $600 for 2023 and going forward. That is facebook, venmo, cashapp or any sales. You can offset the sales, but that means you need to track purchase costs as well and it will be a pain. Old limit was 10,000-20,000.

Yeah but only in like 1 size which is why it's 50 bucks and multiple colors. All black 10 1/2 40 with tax. Not that bad don't have to pay shipping costs. I got some for my bro in law he loves em. Still on the hunt for some Nike golf

I have a pair of these shoes.  Picked them up because they were cheap and was traveling for a family trip with the opportunity to play golf only once.  So did not travel with my sticks and just borrowed clubs from a friend.  I think these shoes are comfortable and had no issues golfing in them.  They look and feel good enough to use as a daily shoe.  The course I played was dry, so I can't comment on how these would perform as golf shoes on wet grass.

PSA for all my SoCal boys looking for the golf shoes at Burlington... they're on OfferUp already 😑 Infinity Pro 2's and Air Max 270 G's. Even some ZIT NXT%'s.

Didn't buy them. Not my size. Actually the only pair I've seen.

If I came across my size, I'd most likey snag them just because they're so cheap...........and they don't look bad at all.
