I wish people would stop posting about golf ball deals! I have no will power. That Srixon deal is too good to pass up. Popped in to N Van GT and pick some up. To go with all my other boxes of balls picked up on deals. I'm good for a few years, but I'm sure I'll be tempted again!

Im sorry for posting that... If it makes you feel any better... I can give you my addy and you can send me a few dozen... I think I am down to around 15 dozen still in the box

As they say you can never have enough though... I have even played 2 rounds with the same ball... I even shot my best round ever with that ball 3 over... I think its time to retire it...

The 3 over was at a executive course... Tough track though small greens and plenty of par 3 over 200

Impressed on delivery time from GT this time ($9.95 charge).   The sale golf balls I ordered online from GolfTown just after 9pm last Wed June 15 (June 16 Ontario time) just arrived shipped from Mississauga. On a Saturday.

This time GT used a new carrier to me, "FleetOptics Inc" with a contract driver at my end.  I was surprised when I looked at the tracking this morning that it was out for delivery. We're in an apartment and he buzzed and waited downstairs for me to  hand it to me.  Now if I had not been home I don't know the outcome, but this time it sure worked.

Have fun - course is playing soft right now. And sorry about all the construction in advance. They bastardized the views on the 4th, which is a shame. So many good memories of that view at sunset, and now it's a giant retaining wall.

If you see a youngish guy in a red cart, feel free to say hi! I have a blue MacKenzie bag on there.

Fairview Mountain is a good play.

Fairview is another track I would love to play this year... I have never played fairview or pred... The plan is to play pred this year..I may have to try and squeeze in fairview this fall

We have better rates in the fall, too. I think around $80?

Honestly - and I've had this conversation with a bunch of longtime members. I would be disappointed coming here and paying full sticker, right now.

The amount of construction and noise going on around the course is extremely annoying.

Beautiful day at tower today.. I have never seen fairways that soggy in the middle of June

It felt like we were playing in March a day after 5 feet of snow melted

just a heads up the fescue is long and I would avoid landing in it 20220620_090509.jpg

My house is on Tower’s 2nd hole. I’ve spent many an afternoon helping golfers find their ball in the gnarly stuff!

Will do! I haven’t played Predator in 20 years so it’ll be a treat to reacquaint myself with the course. Booked Nk’Mip (Inkameep) for our Saturday round.

That's a real shame.  Those greens used to be like green glass.

I played there yesterday, and they've improved quite a bit. A few greens still have some rough areas though.

Played out there last year... First time for me... Do you play tower often ?

Predator was spectacular today! My wife and I were paired with a husband/wife for our round. Within 3 holes it felt like we had been friends for years! We exchanged phone numbers at the end of the round. Weather was first rate. Greens were rolling pure. Pace was excellent at 4.75 hours for 18.

I haven’t played much at Tower. We’ve done 9 and dine twice. I’m sure we’ll get out more as the season continues.

Course pics look great. Never played it. The course probably is tough especially for the wives perhaps, but "pace was excellent at 4.75 hours"? In carts presumably. No Player Assistants? That's half an hour more than I'd consider appropriate for any course.

Looks nice !!!!!

I guess I need to re finance the house and play there this year 🙃

I would like to play predator and tobiano this year..predator is on my list of must plays this year...

Tee off has a few deal times that are not that bad price wise..

It’s certainly a treat to yourself playing Predator. The courses are both challenging but very fair. The pace of play noted on the scorecard for both of Predator Ridge’s courses is 4.5 hours on carts. Our round moved along really well. At no point were we pushing the group ahead of us or being pushed by the group behind us. Factor in the tee sheet was full of foursomes, I’d say 4.75 hours was excellent.

For those courses, I guess the extra time for a round is justified. We played the Predator course a few years ago. I remember one tee shot that you had an uphill tee shot to a marker stake, as you could not see the fairway. Played a lot of mountain golf that year, so I think I have the correct course!  Also some tee shots where the middle of the fairway gets rewarded with your ball rolling downhill into impossible rough. We saw a lot of VERY casual golfers playing that day and I would hate to guess how many balls they lost!   Regardless, not a big fan of mountain golf to begin with, but that course was quite pretty otherwise, worthy of playing at least once.

A little late to report but McCleery was  in great shape Thursday even a bit of run out.  Greens were very firm so they  should be really firm by this weekend.

Thursday was a special day at MCCleery for the 90th Year Celebration of the WestPoint Golf Club (WPGC).

History lesson:  the WestPoint Golf Club started out by a group of regular players at University golf course in 1932  (formerly called the Westward Ho golf course, which now is the restaurant name).

In 1974 with a growing senior membership, a mid-week senior 55+ division of WestPoint Golf Club  was formed.  In 1984 after the new private management took over, it wasn't supportive of a separate "WestPoint" group within the now "University Golf and Country Club", certainly not a seniors midweek WestPoint one. In 1985 Alvie Thompson, then the pro at McCleery, offered them a weekly block of tee times. Some took up the offer and took the WPGC designation with them.  (There still is a very active mid-week group at University  and I'm now a member of that group also. )

Now WPGC has weekly games first in the season at McCleery, then shifting to Langara, then Fraserview as the season progresses. A much  smaller block of times is also provided at Riverway weekly.

Parks Board also provides a few winter times for the eager and hearty. I think that started with Covid when most travel stopped.

Some Parks staff and pros were there  for the event and some folks did Bagger Vance type vintage looks.  Mike from the BC Golf Museum provided hickory clubs to use at the 5th hole for a KP.   A fun and memorable day.

I now see why they had a 12:20 tee time open  😆

Are u all getting this heat down your way as well ?

Yeah. My wife and I did. just an exec course walking for a 1pm tee time on Sunday and it whacked the heck out of us. We probably were tired when we started though.  Really bad and restless sleep in the heat the last two nights too.
