I had a nice round yesterday, considering the wind I was thrilled to break 80.  Stupid hole 16 got me again.  The 2nd par 3 with the back right pin straight into the fan was awesome.

Went by for my lesson and a few range sessions this weekend at MC. Heard from the pro and a worker I know inside that grounds crew expectation is mid May for the greens opening.

I just had to renew mine.  For the first time in years I considered not renewing.  

It's been death by a thousand little cuts, but the way this is being handled is pretty poor IMO.

I just did mine too. I'm a tour member mostly so I can get the extra booking day. But death by a thousand cuts is a good way to describe it. I put up with the higher costs because I think it's a great course with great conditions. Guess that's going out the window now. Given what I saw of the greens, all 18 are going to need a miracle. 

 

I'll say my tour gift was pretty nice, but who really needs another duffel bag? 🤣

I would keep an eye on the usual spots... Craigslist as well as Facebook marketplace... Im not a facebook guy... A friend put me on to the marketplace recently and its been a gold mine

I have heard that. If my wedges don't go on Craigslist I might try that. But the security issues I have read around Facebook generally give me great unease. I think I was signed up for a total of  a day or two several years ago.

I used a fake name and a junk email address to set up my account as I only use it for marketplace 

It's a great place to browse for everything you may need... as with anything these days it is full of scammers.. just be aware if something looks to good it probably is 

It's my go to for buying and selling anything these days 

I put a friend onto it last month and I may need to get him help as he is buying things almost daily on there 😆

I've got a tee time for 2 players at Fraserview saturday morning early, that I can no longer make (playing Canal with 4 instead).  If anyone is interested I'll let you know when I'm cancelling it so you can snag it.

Played Canal this AM in short sleeve. Shorts might be next!. Tips looked to be at the tips, but everything else was bunched and all the way forward. Didn't help my game though. Just can't get anything going these days.

We were out there too.  Blue tees were all in the right spots except for a couple which were further back than normal.  We noticed white tees seemed to be all over the place, looks like they're trying to save some wear on those tee boxes.

 

My short game and putting let me down today but I had a nice swing going and hit a lot of greens.  Good score for me despite finding the water on #17 (dammit!)

We played whites and I was really only paying attention to those markers. I was flushing until 6 and then had a total meltdown on the shortest hole of the day. This game...

 

We've locked in Saturday morning at Kings next weekend.

I was in your lovely city over the weekend. Played Point Grey midday friday in some pretty nice weather. The new hole stretch is a touch cramped around the range but they are some cool golf holes, and the fescue turf on them was awesome. Definitely more extreme than the other 15 holes but I was a fan.

I can only imagine haha, you must have received the full Links by the Sea experience.

We were getting a solid 2-club wind all day at Canal, which to me is actually how that course is meant to be played.

3 club wind all day on Sunday! Wasn’t great for the score card but what a blast. Came over for the day from the island. Course conditions were not that great but that course is one of my favorites on the mainland so I enjoyed it. There are definitely a couple of courses I miss from my mainland days and kings links is at the top of the list for me.

I’ve not seen one good thing said about the condition of any course in any of them. 
 

Is this normal for this time of year? I know it’s been an odd winter (so I’m told) but everything seems like a mess?

Riverway is MINT right now, but you're more likely to pick the LottoMax numbers than get a tee time there.

 

This is the worst year I can remember in the last 15.  Even the last few weeks its been close to zero degrees overnight so they just can't get grass to grow properly. 

 

Usually the courses are in good shape before spring aeration, and then VERY good shape a couple weeks after that.

Last time I was at MC a few weeks back the fairways were great but 18/18 greens were dog poop. 6 temps at the time. I've heard they opened up 2 more greens. Down to 4 temps. Can anyone confirm?

All open May 1, but likely not in "good" shape until May 18.

OK couldn't sit idle when I saw tee times open up at FV. Might be the only time I get to play there. Post punching so we'll see how it goes. Hope it doesn't rain too much.
