The 2 hours of this featured streaming, just shows me how much the Golf Channel actually sucks at covering the LPGA. For once I'm watching LPGA TV coverage and it actually seems professional lol

That looks like some of the public courses we all play on...but Shoal Creek is one of the premier privates in Alabama.

The bare spots kind of look repairable......I doubt the USGA would allow those patches to occur for a USO....but then again....the USO is a major revenue source for the USGA....if not for the USO...I doubt the gals would be playing for $5M this week.

This is Swaneset (this picture is from another WRX member)....a course I used to play often in the summer....especially twilight....very cheap....there are 36 holes...2 courses that are very tough.

Here's some of the conditions during some of the recent summers with no rain here....many of the courses were baked out with lousy conditions...even some privates....water restrictions.

 

Pictures never give you an idea how a hole plays...this is a long par 5 2nd hole on the Links course....it's is so claustrophobic.....lined all the way down to the hole with think forest on both sides of the fairway.

There is a beautiful and huge stone clubhouse.

I want Lexi and Brooke to play together in the new team event against Lydia and Imbee, it would be a great contrast in superb ball striking versus superb putting. Although Lydia and Imbee are average ball strikers and Lexi and Brooke are atrocious putters LOL .......... and that where they advantage would lie IMO

FOX put in the resource to produce this I believe as a condition to get the broadcast right for the US Open. They can afford to do this for a few events a year, but probably not week in and week out like Golf Channel does.

the course looks like it's in terrible shape. How in the heck are they handling it? On number two the landing zone looks like grass on one half and a huge patch of dirt/sand on the half closest to the bunker?

In the last 3 years.....June, July and August have had little rain.

These bare patches just makes me concentrate more to hit the ball 1st....IMO....it makes me try to be a better ball striker.

The 2 courses are visually and mentally challenging....ya just can't let things bother you when you play Swaneset....otherwise the courses will eat you up

The late night twilight is so cheap.....so non ideal conditions don't bother me.

That's harsh. For example, Brooke is in the top quartile of the LPGA in terms of putts per Greens in Regulation while middle of the pack for total putts per round. She is also 5th this year in birdies made. Hard to make birdies if you don't make putts and harsh to say that its "atrocious".

 

I'd Agee that the putting is not Brooke's strongest part of her game and it seems to me that if she worked with a short game guru / putting coach ... perhaps someone like Dave Stockton or Brad Faxon, she could improve this part of her game to a point that she would win even more!

when she was a kid....I think she was playing with men's clubs...so she's always been used to choking up.

Brooke grew up playing with her sister/dad's clubs and because of the length for a little kid, she had to grip down on the club to have better control of the club when she swings., It's something that she just grew up with and it carried over into her professional career.

Actually, it's true. Lydia is currently #96 in ballstriking, primarily because she's ranked #122 in total driving. Inbee, on the other hand, is ranked #13 in ballstriking.

Lydia use to be a great a great ball striker.....it's been difficult for her to rid herself from the A Swing garbage....it's not like one can take a shower and be gone with it. :taunt:

 

We have seen some loose drivers and some not so great wedge shots from Lydia in the past 18 months....it's her short game that's been saving her.

not surprised really....Bham in the June/July months is rain, rain, then hot as hell.....and, that course is below a ridge with no wind.....the sun is crazy hot today and humidity is awful....just how it is in this area during the Summer.........plus, no full practice rounds this week
