I agree that the coverage is fantastic. Not only are we seeing lots of shots, they're quick cutting between numerous players, instead of spending 90 percent of the time on the feature group. Heck, even Joel Buck has toned it down a bit.

I love this coverage but I have the network coverage muted on my TV and have the volume on the featured stream with Wie and the Kim's. Joe Buck is my Kryptonite lol

This announcing crew is the worst. None of these people own a passport, from the sound of things. This broadcast falls well short of the most basic standards for an English language broadcast on a major network. Joe Buck's only real usefulness in the world is leading in and out of commercial breaks, and this broadcast has no commercials, yikes. This is complete amateur hour. Azinger just asked on-air, "How do you even pronounce [Jutanugarn]?"

I'm about ready to file a complaint with the FCC.

I think Joe Buck has done pretty well. Has to be a lot of pressure. Maybe if he had Mike Shannon back alongside him in the booth...

Let's celebrate some of his best quotes:

“He ran to second faster than a cat in Chinatown.”

“I’ve heard it said that if you know English, Spanish, Italian, and I think it’s French, you can go just about anywhere in this world…except for China where they have all those derelicts.” (5/19/02)

This year’s quote regarding the derelicts in China was followed (after a pause) by Joe Buck’s suggestion that Mike had meant to say “dialects.” Mike’s response was,”Yea, dialects! That’s what I mean. But they’ve got a lot of derelicts too!!”

(Broadcasting from New York under a full moon) “I wish you folks back in St. Louis could see this moon.”

(1-0 lead at Wrigley Field) ‘‘One run in this ballpark is like a grain of salt in the Sahara Desert.”

Joe: “Mike, the Cardinals would like to welcome a group of 19 French foreign exchange students in section 382 today.”

Mike: “Where they from Joe?”

Joe: “Uhhh… France… I think.”

“We’d like to say hello to all those folks listening in Monkey’s Eyebrow, Kentucky.”

“That foul tip bounced up and caught him right in the groins…and that’ll really clear your eyes out!”

(After a warning track fly ball) “A couple of strips of bacon at breakfast, and he’d a busted that baby out-a-here!”

“If you stuck your money clip between the foul line & the baseball, you’d be on welfare.” (8-28-07)

(On Jose Oquendo buying a new house) ”He’s going to make his winter home here year-round.”

“Our next home stand follows this road trip.” (5/20/01)

“Well, he did everything right to get ready for the throw, but if ya ain’t got the hose, the water just won’t come out.”

“…this crowd is on their feet for the Canadian Star Spangled Banner.”

“He’s faster than a chicken being chased by Ronald McDonald!”

A couple years back, Mike and Joe were discussing the horrible photographs of players that had been flashed on the screen at another ballpark. Mike’s take on the quality of photo selection was, “Some of those guys looked like the picture was taken while they were seeing their first UFO.” After several seconds of laughter, Joe added, “As opposed to their second or third.”

(On the day before Easter) “I just want to tell everyone Happy Easter and Happy Hanukkah.” (4/98)

(About a base stealer) “Sometimes when you feel the urge, you’ve just gotta go.” (6/17/98)

“Well, folks, this game began as a tiny worm and is blossoming into a large cobra.” (8/12/98)

“I wouldn’t have seen it if I hadn’t believed it.'”

“Oooh, that last pitch inside was a bit questionable and he’d like to say something to the umpire, but he won’t say anything. At least not verbally.”

“Boy a frosty cold Budweiser would be great about now”…long pause…then an “aahhh”.

“The wind has switched 360 degrees”.

“It was raining so hard I thought it was going to stop.”

Memo to Joe Buck: Every time you mispronounce Ariya's last name it makes me want to mispronounce yours, Joe Buck.

I think of Goosen telling people to not bother trying to pronounce his name correctly, and I hate it when NPR presenters pronounce Columbia or Chile like they're from there but pronounce France like they're a diner waitress, but Joe seems to be trying a little too hard to avoid coming even close.

Some one help me. Is it Jutan-you-garn, or Jutan-uh-garn?

So what's everyone's opinion on Zinger advocating sticking the leading edge into the ground on bumps around the green? Runs counter to the "use the bounce" mantra typically pitched. I hit both types of shots, but still found his opinion odd because it seems to be rare.

A lot easier to stick the leading edge into the ground on an uphill shot.

On a flat lie using the bounce might be easier and better.

Zinger had such a strong grip that he probably didn't have the "use the bounce" shot. All he could do was stick it into the ground.

What the heck happened to Holly Sonders? Did she have those lips "done", or is she ill?

Bad lip job is my guess. Donald Duck fetish? Seems like a quack of some sort was involved.

Someone said that Holly has hit a wall.

I added that she didn't bounce.

So I think that Azinger said Jutanaugarn correctly, and Buck went right on and said it incorrectly. Is he tone deaf?

Too much talk by too many people, and practically none of what they are saying is adding to the telecast. Too much blather.

Zinger and Julie Inkster could probably carry this off just by themselves - and let silence tell the story. Tell me about technique once in awhile, tell me about the strategy of playing a hole once in awhile.

So pleasantly surprised that Fox stuck with the extra coverage - glad I'm not in a baseball market...really figured they would abandon the women as soon as they could...big thumbs up!!

Foxes uninterrupted coverage is so painful/awful I wouldn’t mind a few 5 minute commercial interruptions. Can’t pronounce Ariya’s last name the whole broadcast. Juli Inkster is impossible to listen to. And then of course the crowning glory the silicon babe with nails that would make a lion proud. At least they have learned not to show her full length with her I’m 20 years younger outfits..

It doesn't look like anyone has a chance against Ariya tomorrow, she's in the zone

Yep, can't see anyone else winning at this point. She would have to completely fall apart, and that is extremely unlikely. She hits the ball like a dude.

Yeah, this looks like a pretty done deal. Maybe Sarah Jane will get back to her first two rounds form and provide us some suspense? But that'd need at least a little help from Ariya stumbling, don't see it either.

The good news is this lets anyone doing any public speaking tomorrow really know whose name they need to get down pat.

Ah Su! Was cheering for her. Hope she is not too sad about a tough day. Hope she can dig deep and get a good final round and score a top 10.

I wanted Su Oh to play well....but kinda had a suspicion she wouldn't.

1st time we have been able to see a lot of her play....her game is a bit loose.

Ya...I hope she can scramble for a top 10 tomorrow.

I've said it before....Duncan French looks aloof and out of touch....seemed like he just carries the bag without any input.

I know the pro hits the ball....but I think Duncan was also useless for Wie too.....I think BJ keep him for a while because he's the BF of Christina Kim....a BFF of Michelle.

I think Matthew Galloway (ex Big Breaker...who has some game) has been a great influence to Wiezy's recent good form....Galloway seems very engaged and provides good advice and confidence to Michelle.
