Some loud Koreans there....likely some of Namdalla's Attack Girls have stayed around...even though Sung Hyun Park trunk slammed and sounds like some Flying Dumbo's who decided to cheer for another short haired HJK.

Yup.....it's just been confirmed....we saw several of Namdalla's Attack Girls screaming and cheering for HJK as both Ariya and HJK were walking off 18 and heading to the 14 tee.

They are pretty cute...hopefully Arg puts them in his fashion thread tomorrow. :taunt:

Was it Brad Faxon who said I don't know why you would clap for your opponent? Whoever it was, I don't have a lot of respect for that particular comment. Golf is a game of respect and I think it was quite classy to show appreciation of someone's Talent.

Azinger.

He is old school. He even stated he didn't really understand today's social media world, kinda chuckled. Paul is Paul.

Wow, never a doubt for Ariya huh......

I am very glad she held it together, great win for her, total class.

Wow. Just wow. I was planning to thank Ariya for putting on a clinic. However, now I should thank her for showing how a champion faces adversity. With a smile. That was a real nail biter. Her short game really came through in the end. Congrats.

What a week for Hyo Joo. She really played to her potential. It's been a while, but what a show.

I think we need to thank Mother Nature for allowing the tournament to be completed. Lol. Major kudos to the grounds crew for keeping the course in playable condition. OK, it wasn't perfect, but it got the job done.

Nice run by Lexi and Danielle. I don't think they had a chance of catching the leaders, but they hung in there.

Fantastic week for the amateur Patty Tavatanakit. She hung in there with the pros, and out scored 51 of them. Love to see the amateurs do well.

Ji Hyun represented the KLPGA well with a solid top 10.

Well I’m happy for her. She’s great for women’s golf and a loss like this could have been shattering.

The commentary is what you get when three of the four major voices not only don’t regularly cover women’s golf, but don’t even follow it on a casual basis.

Praise aside, Ariya really needs to revisit the driver, or at least the 3 wood. Hitting 2 iron is fine if it's a fairway finder. However, it's apparent it's not the magic club we all thought it to be. If one is going to be in the rough, may as well be 30 yards further up.

Holy heck ... was expecting the most interesting thing today to be how many strokes Ariya blew away the rest of the field by. Got a magnificent charge by Hyo Joo and a tense nail-biter instead!

Thank goodness Ariya saved herself by just enough... would have been a real career-damager to have lost that big a lead on a major. Would have been hearing about it endlessly literally years later. Glad that did not happen.

Looking at the leaderboard, Airya and HJK were really playing some sort of different game or course. There's Ciganda four strokes back, and that's *it*. Everyone else four more strokes back in a big sea.

Congratulations to Ariya, a great achievement! And congratulations to HJK too, very valiant!

In the rough and in play is much better than 30 yards ahead and in the trees, water, or OB. Her 3 wood today on 10 was pushed into the water and her 3 wood on 18 at the ANA 2 years ago was a snap hook into the water.

Whether it was nerves or being tired, her swing was a little off so it was a smart move to abandon the 3 wood late in her round and in the play-off. Sure, she didn't hit many fairways but she was in play.

I am very glad she held it together, great win for her, total class.

Yes.

And the other player to show total class was HJK.

No sign of crying or pouting in defeat.

HJK has been the invisible woman for some time.....I think she's been suffering with some kind of digestive issue???...and I think she's been taking some courses to obtain her university degree.

I read when HJK signed her Lotte contract 3 years ago there were some huge performance metrics in the contract....I think a USWO win might have put an additional $500,000 in her jeans.

Hope to see HJK play better this year.

No question....... one would want to stay out of the rough at Shoal Creek....bermuda rough is so nasty and unpredictable to hit out of.

But there are a good number of courses without bermuda or nasty tough rough that the LPGA tour plays on.

Ariya has the hand strength and club head speed that most LPGA tour course rough would not necessarily be a challenge for Ariya to control shots out of it.

If Ariya was that much closer to the par 5's hitting shorter clubs...if she even made 1 more par 5 birdie each rd....4 birdies is huge over 4 days...the difference between 2/3rd vs. a win.

There must be a 12* driver, low launch shaft and a 43/43.5" combo driver that Ariya could hit with some degree of consistency.

Obviously, the only way to find out is to ask Glichrist at an event how much driver experimenting they have or have not been conducting.

there at the end Azinger, Buck and Inkster were talking like Ariya was walking to her own funeral for a good 5 minutes, and they wouldnt let up, luckily i believe it may have been Faxon chimed in and said "hey now, how about have some optimism" it was like they were trying to make everyone depressed, absolutely horrid announcing.
