GolfNow has become a Joke!!!!!!!!!!!

So I have come to the conclusion that GolfNow has joined the ranks of companies who refuse to provide descent customer service. I made a couple of tee times in error for this past weekend and booked a third one, all at the same course within 15 minutes of each other. So I call the course to make sure this was ok and they said it was fine and I wouldn't be charged for the other two tee times. Well guess what? GolfNow charged me for all three tee times, even after they re-listed the two times I cancelled and re-sold them!!!!!!!!!!! So I call GolfNow and get nothing but excuses and the treatment that I am a child and I should just accept the fact that they are ripping me off!!!!!!!!! To make it right, they said here are some codes good Mon.-Thurs. anytime after 12:00 pm on hot deals only, I asked them if this was a joke?????? They used to be a great company but greed has taken over by the looks of it!!!!!!!!!

Why did you call the course to see if this was "ok," when you should have been dealing with GolfNow from the get-go? Did you cancel your times before 24hours of the tee time? Did GolfNow charge you the full tee time or just the "reservation fees?"

Mostly PING clubs, with TaylorMade woods.

Did you book through Golfnow's website? If so you should've called them to cancel the other two tee times. I don't think Golfnow can track whether or not you showed up and played those other times, except if they called the course directly.

The money eventually ends up in the pocket of the golf course (unless it's a deal time) so you're next option would be to dispute it with the course.

All the signs of a company is tight financially.

I would use any credit , free rounds as quickly as I could. It's the season anyway. My buddy sent me an invitation for their VIP membership ( cost like $197 ) but with 2 x $200 credit = a $400 credit........ Double the membership fee.... now, how can any company make any profit after that ? It smells like they are in need for cash flow for some reason.

I try to avoid GN when I can. I had an interesting experience yesterday. Was playing 36 and weren’t sure about the second round course, which one, what time. Figured we could play it by ear after the first round since it was a Monday early afternoon.

Checked GN to see what times were available. Found one that worked and called the course to book to avoid GN fees and possibly get a better rate. To my surprise, the guy at the pro shop recommended that I book through GN to get a better rate than their call in rate. I think the course’s website also offered a better online rate but I didn’t have time to setup an account.

This is the funniest post of all. Have you TRIED to contact golf now by phone? Lol.....you get to listen to a long message and then they hang up. There’s no one to speak with!

i cannot believe how poor the customer service is at golf now. I had a time at a course here that closed because of a tropical storm. I could not get a refund, even though the course was closed. They made me “request a cancelation’” because there was no one to speak with, and the only recorded instructions available told me to do it online and select “request cancelation”. Now I have to try and get the fees back!

the phone number goes to a recording and the email address kicked back as undeliverable.

good luck!

Haha. And the thread went dead without an explanation of why the OP called the course to cancel rather than the middleman he booked through! He attained a whole 9 posts and he hasn’t even visited since August 2018.

Agree that golfnow is terrible. It used to actually have deals on tee times and now it has evolved into the defacto booking site for a ton of golf courses. As in they dropped their own booking system and just use golf now. The prices now are just the standard course tee times plus the per golfer fee that GN charges. I never use them to reserve a regular tee time anymore, I always call the course directly and cut GN out.

Right at the beginning of golf opening back up in March I jumped online and booked a tee time about 8 days out for the first Monday that courses would be open. So basically I booked on a Sunday for a time the next week Monday as I was worried about tee times selling out since that was the first and only thing people could go out and do at the time. The next day I called the course just to get clarifications on what the terms of re-opening would be and realized that I had been charged the full riding price of a round even though carts would not be available...so I had paid $46 for a $26 round of golf (x2 golfers). So I went online and cancelled and re-booked through the course. About a week after my round, I looked at my credit card and noticed I still hadn't been refunded for my tee time that I had cancelled 2 weeks ago. I called GN and got put into the queue to wait for a Rep. with an estimated 4 hr hold time! What a joke! Eventually I got through and the representative told me that I was not eligible for a refund since I had booked a "deal" despite them not being able to honor what I had paid for. After a lot of back and forth and a couple "talk to my manger" sessions they offered me the same BS vouchers that were only good M-Th after 12. I still have them as they are a pain to use as there really aren't a lot of "Hot deal" options after 12 around me. It seems like they strategically all end around 11:50.....

After having a problem, and finding that they don't even publish an email address to contact them, I realized they don't want my business. I'm cheap and will usually give up good service for a better price, but now they are just charging a fee on top of the regular cost. Even on hot deals... Why would anyone use them anymore? They offer no value, just pain and misery if you have to contact them.

Golfnow has devolved into the worst organization I’ve ever seen. They deserve this thread resurrected and discussed, so folks understand how bad they really are. I did find an email address they post on their site, here’s the best part, it kicks back as not a real address! And the phone number had no option to speak with anyone, it just plays a recorded message and then hangs up.

no contact forms on the website.....nothing. They stink, and don’t want to talk to you, the customer. Check the BBB, there are literally hundreds of complaints filed against them! When I had to dispute it with the credit card company, you could almost see the agent rolling their eyes through the phone, as they said “them again....”.
