Full bag deal, is this actually a thing ?

Sorry if Im talking what you said to literal, just curious !

Yes. Apparently they have a full bag option for 5k. You basically can pick whatever you want. Including wedges. My understanding is it’s actually a pretty good deal. I believe the pro at PGA tour academy told me your getting 8k in product for the 5k.

That’s a real good deal. Is this listed on the PXG site?

I wonder if that includes the Tour milled wedges?

I believe it does. I was super pissed when he told me about it because I got my gen 2 irons 7months ago and just ordered the hybrid and driver. Had I know I would have done the package. I will ask my guy how to order it. He’s also a pxg staffer.

From my pxg pro:

It’s 14 unique/different clubs one must be a putter, a bag and hat of your choice for $5000.

Just ran 2 through last week and ended up saving the guys about $2500 rather then buying them at different times.

You can do darkness heads but that $5500.

There’s some other things to it but that’s pretty much it

So it is 12 clubs plus bag and plus hat?

I hope that means 13 clubs plus the putter

Is this program for certain PXG fitters only? I wonder if DDs can get this deal?

And why are they not promoting the hell out of this? That's a fantastic deal for PXG stuff! I bet they'd convert more non pxg guys to full bags if this program was advertised better.

Still doesn't really compete with the $3,500ish you'd pay for 14 club set and bag from other OEM's, but a good motivator for the on the fence PXG crowd for sure.

Just an observation, but that T1100 6.5 in the TS3/Gen2 comparison video seems like a lot of shaft for his swing speed regardless of where he was fitted. Guess the numbers don't lie though.

Well I've never considered pxgs because of the price. I'm more of a 2 year old purveyor of used clubs. I texted the local pxg rep and the $5k deal is true. Now I gotta talk myself out of it.

I'll help ya out:

Spend $2800 on another brand or brands, and spend the remaining on lessons (would cover almost a year's worth with my pro). That'll help that 7 handicap better than 5k worth of equipment. just my opinion though.. LOL

I was able to get on Flightscope with the Gen 2 X and thought I would share my numbers and initial feedback compared to my old and recently sold TS3. I will be testing the PXG against the Cobra F9 on Wednesday. I know for the sake of argument this is not a direct apples-to-apples comparison with the TS seeing as it had a different shaft/setup, hit on different days, and the Titleist is currently somewhere in Canada, but the following information is based upon my opinion, experience, and average numbers achieved on the Flightscope...

PXG Gen 2 X - 9* w/ Evenflow 65 Black 6.5 - 45” - Neutral Setting / Low Spin Weight Configuration

Titleist TS3 8.5 w/ Evenflow White 6.0 - 45.5” - A2 Setting (+.75)

Sound / Feel: PXG is phenomenal, very satisfying upon impact. I would liken it to the sound of splitting wood, if that resonates with anyone.

Looks: While I like the overall look of the Gen 2, I’d have to give the edge to the TS3. Classic pear shape, gloss finish, and slightly open at address. PXG sets up square to my eye at the neutral position. Both inspire confidence.

Spin: This is the area in which I was really banking upon the PXG being better and the numbers did show that it was indeed lower spinning for me. Struggled to keep the spin numbers under 2900 with the TS. The PXG averaged 2500 rpm with the tungsten weights forward.

Distance: Average carry with the PXG was around 282. TS3 carry was around 277. The PXG did launch higher than the TS at 16* vs 14* which would more than likely be due to the shaft difference, which is ultimately why I went with the EV Black. The EV White felt too stout for my smooth transition and did not help me achieve my desired spin numbers.

Ball Speed: PXG was around 2-3 faster for me at an average of 163. Titliest came in around 160.

Dispersion/Shape: Both clubs performed equally well, as I was able to achieve a desired slight fade. Perhaps the PXG gets the edge in consistency (3-4 yards) but that could simply be dismissed based upon my swiings that particular day(s) and the shaft difference.

Overall I’m really impressed with the Gen 2 Driver. It is my first experience with PXG equipment and has lived up to my expectations. Eager to see if how the Gen 2 performs against the F9. Good old fashion simulator match-up. Hopefully the performance translates to green-grass, but it’ll be a few more weeks to find out. Still snowing here in PA...

Thanks for review. Looking forward to the PXG-F9 shootout.

A lot people on here ending up with the X. ANyone have reviews on the XF?

I ended up in the XF. I am a lower spin player with a +3-5 AOA. That being said, for me the X was too low spin in the 9* head to get the correct launch. The 10.5* launched too high, although the spin was right.

The XF was fantastic. Good launch/spin numbers for me while being wildly forgiving. Everything just wanted to go straight.

I fooled around with ordering or not for a while and ultimately did last Monday. PXG said there was around a 12-15 day build lead time. I'll report back when it's in hand.

Nothing is safe in my bag!

I cancelled my order after two weeks and nothing built and the whole sold out thing. Still considering when they have more stock....but I was itching and picked up an m5, which I like so far, but I did really like the feel and ball flight at my demo with the x. Will have to scratch that itch hopefully soon.
