I was blessed to see Neil on his last tour prior to the Parkinson’s diagnosis. Voice wasn’t quite as strong as it was in 1977, when I last saw him at the Checkerdome (yep another’s STL reference), but well into his 70’s, he still had it.

I actually had tears in my eyes when I saw him again after 40 years. Had my 28 y/o daughter and my favorite sister-in-law with me, and couldn’t have asked for a more perfect night. Even though that song doesn’t have an arena anthem feel to it, when he closed the show that night, it felt really _big_!

I saw a few ABA games there as well as some rock concerts. Was in sad shape forever that old place.

I had a little 14 foot aluminum Sears row boat with a 6 hp Johnson motor. My family had a cottage (early 1970's) on a beautiful lake (Torch) in Northern Michigan. I would be cruising the shorelines so many afternoons with my AM radio in the boat with me. One of my favorite songs from one of those summers was this gem by Neil. Still love it tons today. Cheers my mid western cousin!

The Ruff and Reddy Show (also known as Ruff and Reddy) is an American animated television series and the first made by Hanna-Barbera Productions for NBC. The series follows the adventures of Ruff, a smart and steadfast cat, and Reddy, a good-natured and brave (but not overly bright) dog. The series also was presented by Screen Gems, the television arm of Columbia Pictures (now Sony Pictures Television). Ruff and Reddy premiered in December 1957 and ran for fifty episodes until April 1960, comprising three seasons.

 

Hanna and Barbera created the series as the first of their fledgling television operation, first named H-B Enterprises. The "buddy" theme had previously been explored in their Tom and Jerry theatrical shorts, but unlike Tom and Jerry, Ruff and Reddy are not adversaries, but housemates and best friends.
