Is Jordan Spieth done being a Top 10 Tour Player?

Jordan Spieth has never been a good driver of the ball, always been the weakest part of his game. Not particularly long and not particularly straight.

This season it's gotten even worse. 48% driving accuracy with 297 average in the modern game isn't going to get it done. He needs to get the ball in play a bit more, I don't know if he's trying to force a few extra yards out there, but he always seems to throw one of two awful drives a round now that get him into big trouble.

Maybe he should talk to Phil. Phil was in a similar spot for a few years. Granted, at one point earlier in his career Phil was one of the longest. Spieth, while very good, never so.

Jesus, this new set-up sucks, lolol

This is exactly how to get rid of a dinosaur?, lol

Oh yea, no, Jordan is by no means done as a Top-10 Palyer, lmao??

LMAO, the format may change but things around here stay the same??

Jordan Spieth needs to figure it out quick to live up to the potential he has. He’ll still win tournaments regardless time to time but he has top ten ALL TIME potential.

He will figure it out - the guy is good.  But top ten all time?!?  HAH!  Phil is right around #11 all time, Spieth will never get 44 wins (or whatever # Phil is sitting on now).

Haha, I'm actually a UX designer by profession and I agree.. it's got beta vibes but then again they did say they're releasing in phases. I didn't like the original setup either, but hopefully by the time all things are said and done it'll be great!

Yeah, I feel like Jordan's saving grace is his short game, if anything. Definitely hope to see him come back, though. I think he's one of those "great for the game" fellas.

Length has never been a problem. Accuracy is a problem.

Length has never been a problem. Accuracy is a problem. It seems that accuracy issue has a lot to do with him chasing after more distance with the longer clubs causing those big misses to be even bigger. His swing has changed some over the past couple of years, and it doesn't really look as solid as it once did, even with the oddities that are in it. If he could get back to the old swing and find some more accuracy he could be better. He was never short, just shorter than some of the biggest names.

He also has some putting demons going on right now, which if he can work a few of those out and see the ball go in, there will be some pressure off the rest of the game, as well.

Just my .02 and nobody asked for them.

Jordan just needs to get out of his own head. Similar to what McIlroy went through. If you ask Rory, he will tell you that his struggles had very little to do with his swing and almost everything to do with his attitude and mental state. I think Jordan needs to see a sport psychologist personally. Once he gets his head straightened out, he will be back. He is too talented not to be.

Golf is hard, life is harder. Jordan did his best when he was winning to make his parents proud and his sister smile. His world is a lot more complex today with a lot more distractions and demand for his time. There are very few guys so myopically focused (like Tiger) that they can handle the pressure of outside expectations.

It's going to take Spieth some time to work it all out but I think he'll be winning again in the next few years.
