Is Jordan Spieth done being a Top 10 Tour Player?

Spieth has always struck me as a more consistent putting Snedeker (and Sned's is a hell of a putter). Once he started missing them from mid length, he is just as likely to miss a cut as to win a tournament. I can see his career mirroring that of Phil's when it is done. Don't think he is done winning, but I don't think he will ever have a better season than what he has already had.

The other night there was also a pretty interesting discussion with Chamblee, Nobilo, and Duval.

Basically talking about sometimes a player just needs to figure it out for himself without the help of teachers and gurus like Nicklaus used to do. I tend to think there is some validity to this. Saw Spieth on the putting green the other day and he would turn around and talk to McCormick literally after every putt. Heck, they showed Spieth just walking to the practice area and he and McCormick were carrying on a back and forth conversation that didn't really look like just a casual chit-chat.

I would look at it the other way. It seems to me the guru to the pros thing is relatively new. So saying a Hogan or Jack dug it out of the dirt has little relevance to today's pros. They can figure it out faster and more accurately with another pair of eyes and a radar device. Before it was hunt and peck.

To me it seems it’s his driver. When playing well he never hit it that long but knew where his misses were going. Now he seems to be chasing distance and a bad drive leads to a poor iron. A poor iron leaves a difficult up and down. A difficult chip leads to a tough putt. A missed putt leads to a loss of confidence.

I’d fix the driving first.

Yeah...I remember reading somewhere that he started to chase distance a few years ago and wasn't as successful as he should be. He reminds me a lot like Mike Weir. Not the longest player on tour, even in his prime but had a deadly short game and putter. Then he started wanting to get longer to be the player he wasn't built to be (even dabbled with Stack and Tilt) and he's fallen off the map ever since and even shorter now than he ever was.

I wish more players would realize to be content with the gifts God gave them and make the most out of it and try not to be keeping up with the McIllroys, DJs and Cameron Champs.

I just think sometimes players get to playing golf swing instead of playing golf.

Sorry...mine's broken. I thought he would be married eventually...just didn't know it was that soon.

I don't Jordan flew to close to the sun, or won too much too fast.

However, I think it's us getting spoiled of thinking that everyone should be consistent all the time. Careers go up and down, his just hit a bigger slump. I'm sure he'll win more tournies, but also have more lean years as well.

Additionally, I think he had a string of luck in some of his majors. Yes, he won 3, but would DJ 3 putt again from 15 feet, and would he get a crazy drop from a trailer? I know you can probably say that every tournament, that the guy who won wouldn't have won if someone else caught a break on Thursday. Just worked out for him.

Don't see an issue with his swing. Don't see an issue with his putting. See an issue in his head.

I see an issue with his swing. It's good, but not good enough when his putting started to trend to average, or above average.

I would say no because Duval’s fall was health related and finch couldn’t play a competitive round. Spieth still goes out and scores well when he stops thinking. Look at his Sunday back 9 at riviera

He seems like he may be more of a Padraig Harrington
