Any chance Ping makes a black/pvd set of irons anytime soon?

My guess would be no. They tend to be a bit conservative in that respect. But I've been wrong before in those types of predictions.

I'm rebuilding my bag this season, and really want black irons for whatever reason... I'd love it if Ping had an option.

i'm curious if they would since they had the wedges in stealth and that finish actually looked nice and held up very well so I can't imagine it would be hard to do the same finish in irons. My guess is they will still wait a couple years though before doing. If you are looking for a set of black irons i'd recommend the Cobra's, that finish is indestructible and they look amazing with black shafts in them.

Love my Stealth Glide 2.0. Finish is rock solid too. I would be first to sign up for some stealth Glide irons

G25 had a dark finish. I wouldn’t call them black but they were on the darker side.

Ping is the last American manufacturer to not have a black iron offering. Honestly I like the simplicity of pings line up. Very straightforward and easy to choose from. Adding in color options just complicates things. If they do offer black I hope it’s only black and not both colors.

I have heard amazing things about the DB finish that Cobra puts on their irons and Maltby too. I used to play the Cleveland TA7 gunmetals back in the day and thought that finish wore a little better than most others. What was that finish, and how much better is the new DB finish than that?

Welp folks...my initial comment was posted in April 2019...looks like it's coming to fruition. Ping is going to launch a black G710 soon...who would've thunk!
