Doood. If I could hit the ball at your distance I’d be a professional. Great time and yes we will again. Fantastic day.

TT hits it a TON

Just so everyone knows, that is an absolute LIE! As I told you I'm 40, 50, 60+ yards behind on every hole with the riff raff that our course attracts.

Have you been over to The Bridges lately?  Been thinking about trying it out again if the conditions were good.  Last time they lost a bunch of fairways but greens were ok.

I played there a couple of weeks ago. Only issue was they had punched the collars around the greens. Fairways were dormant but in good shape and the greens were fantastic. They have a newish superintendent that came over from Maridoe. Conditions should only get better as things warm up.

Old American is for sure my favorite of the 3. Cowboys is a little overpriced but the main reason why I listed it is because the condition/scenery is great. I assumed since he was looking at Trinity Forest (elite club with 6 figure initation and over $300 guest fee) that he was looking for a nice course scenery/prestige wise (I like courses like Tenison/Stevens/Sherill Park but they look like Los Rios compared to these highend courses).

Trinity accompanied rate is 175.00 as Of two weeks ago.  Also with a member sponsor(not a club pro call on they allow unaccompanied play at a premium rate.

Played Texas Star today. Greens are infested with poa and are basically unputtable.

There’s no way I’m going back out there until they get the poa under control which appears will be sometime this summer when the heat burns it out. They definitely have not attempted to treat it as it is thriving.

You’ve been warned.

I have a conspiracy theory….perhaps the facilities have seen the uptick in rounds during the pandy and see all that $$$ and re adjust their budgets to pocket more of the cash. Or the increase in cost of gas and goods in the pro shop/snack bar has taken away from the grass budget

There is zero reason for them not to treat it. But here we are.

It actually wasn’t very busy for being such a nice day. Not sure that theory is working for them.

I still want to play Split Rail sometime. It's just a long way from where I live up here in Anna. Might have to fit it in sometime on one of our trips to Squaw Valley that we do every year.

If you drive from Anna to Glen Rose, Split Rail is definitely worth stopping for. It rivals Squaw Valley.

There's poa everywhere this Spring it seems....IIRC, you can't 'treat' poa until summer temps get here

Though worse than ever seen the greens at home course over past 12 years, still playable, not pool table smooth due to poa...then again, they play the same for everyone and course is still packed

Another great afternoon with Texas turf today. Greg is an awesome dude if you ever get to play a round with him!!

Thanks for setting it up. It was an honor and pleasure to play with you and your opponent/friend. Once again, the legend CJ kicked our asses, and we had a great time. We didn't have to wait on a single shot all day.

Hopefully I can convince you to come play our goat track sometime so we don't have to drive so far.

Looking to branch out a little with my group.  Has anyone been to the following courses recently:

Keeton Park

Tangle Ridge

Fossil Creek

I have never played Keeton Park or Tangle Ridge. I have not played Fossil Creek in a while but I hear 5 + hour rounds and it is in desperate need of some renovation. It is a great layout though. Probably worth checking out if you have never played there just keep you expectations a little low and maybe surprised.

Tierra Verde had lotsa poa today but the fairways are popped.

Was just getting on to post the same thing.  Played yesterday.  Some of the greens were horrible with poa and couldn't keep a putt on line.  Others were mostly clear and putted okay.  It is not going to be long until those fairways are carpets again though.
