I was a Cobra guy until I snapped the shaft on my HS9 and letting my clubfitter talk me into a TM SQ but I digress. Rob do you think the L4V is longer than the D? Are any of your D's set up with the same shaft as the LV? If so how do the two compare? Seeing as I was able grab a D off the bay with a V2 76 x I need to know. How do you think a V2 or a Blueboard 73 X would match up with the LV? Thanks.

I must just be new to the D. I have a demo with the stock VS and hit it well. I would be interested to know if Rob is picking up any addtional yardage or just hitting it straighter since its more of a game improvement driver. I am a little worried about the stock redboard, I hope it performs as well as the proto in my D.

After seeing one in person myself, the head is HUGE, don't know if I could play this or not, will have to see what shafts are available before I would give it a try, even then don't if I could get used to that head, if ever I could, it would be hard to go back to something that looked so much smaller.

I'm gonna wait and see on this club.

Robopti,
Since this is a heavy head (i believe u said 208g) what do u think is the optimum shaft weight? 70-80g? and out of all the shafts (matrix, fuji, etc.) why go with a UST MOI not tryin to diss it just wondering? I'm gonna get one of these things (even if it kills me) and I'm sure I'll change out the shaft as well.
Thanks

I have am using mid 70s on mine. PM 702 & the UST MOI. I am SERIOUSLY thinking about trying a tipped 60x protopype in one for giggles.

The MOI has some counterbalance to it to try even the swingweight - I don't mind heavy actually but I have just been tinkering with UST lately and having good results :D

Snagged an L4V X today and it's true... I'm a believer these are truely the BOMB!!! It's damn cold here too (38* wind chiil it was prolly only 34*) and I was still driving the ball waaaay out there and great trajectory. So far the stock shaft feels fine too.. but we'll see how long it lasts especially when I can play it in some warmer weather :D

Gotta say, this club bombs. I am hitting an F 9* with the Redboard and love it. The club has some heft to it - feels a lot heavier than the Burner, which I feel helps my swing. I hit an X speed version in a simulator and loved it, too. Every drive was 260 and within 10 yards of center, which for me, is an incredible impovement (I'm a 90s golfer on most days).

The sound isn't nearly as loud as most Cobra's. The LDs have a hollow or tinny sound high pitched pop which I could not stand. The First Speed series drivers were loud but sounded meaty. This sounds much more solid and not as high pitched. It is probably the best sounding Composite driver I've heard. It's more Rapture than Sumo SQ, but more G10 than Rapture, if that's possible for a composite.

This is a great club - give the Redboard its day in court before you reshaft it. I love the stock setup and am having great success with it.

Metal ... Not steak - But I had a REALITY CHECK - and learned if you close your eyes you can't tell the difference :D

I am TRYING to find a VTLT - That I think - could be a PRIMO shaft for one of these :)

Just recieved a call from the local golfstore, and told me they recieved the L4V, they only got in two so far, sold the first one in less than an hour and put the other on hold for me until the new Exotics driver comes in Dec 5, at which time Ill demo them both, get on the launch monitor and find out which face gives me the better ball speed, and feel. Ive got a Diamana blueboard shaft sitting at home. So Ill probably give it a whirl. Will give you an update next week

This drive is stupid long; I shafted mine with the Creation and it's awesome. Because of the headweight (mine was also 208gr exactly) be careful with any shaft over 68gr unless you like D7 or heavier drivers. I think the 60X Protopype or the a 63gr Diamana whiteboard would be perfecto! Nice concept actully because this will increase clubhead speed. I will again say this driver is one of the very best (if not the best) I've ever gamed. Cobra is gettin right boys...EDIT: I like Robo's idea of the Protopype 60X so much I just baught one to shaft up after I'm done with the Creation. I think the Protopype will swingweight perfectly and lower ball flight and spin just a hair. Can you say dial it in baby!
