Love the new "old" look!

Like the content of the new release. Obviously we knew there would still be bugs and a lot more work to do, but definitely a great leap forward. Looking forward to future releases.

Sorry, but this new (old) format is really putting me off, at least in the mobile version where I do most of my browsing. I found the version just prior much easier to read and know the status of the posts (which I've bookmarked, how many new comments have been posted in a thread, the date of the post, etc.). I doubt you'll change it back, but it seems like this is going back to an old, lower tech format just to appease the long-timers who wish for the "good old days".

Whew - all good again this morning!

On my MacBook Pro and on my iPhone everything about this is better than it was.

I disagree it is "low tech" - but certainly people would have different opinions about the look.

So much easier to read now and yes, it looks "familiar", but some of that functionality is back a bit as well. Will be interesting to see how folks are getting on in the BST.

SITE QUESTION!

Under my avatar it says "Countdown to The Open Championship!"

There used to be a way, and it was obvious, to change this (it isn't my signature so to speak and I can't remember what it was called, maybe "caption", but I don't remember) but now I can't find anything that allows me to edit this.

Maybe it still is obvious, but sorry, I just can't find or access it and would like to know how.

I still think the user info on the left needs to be adjusted.

- it shows you're an admin twice. think that needs to be cleaned up. "site founder & co-owner." my suggestion is it should go below the user name, above the avatar.

- i'm still unsure what the stars mean. some users have two different types of stars and different amounts. some stars filled in - some not. see user "BKN1964" & "ballpilot". two different types of stars. why? do we need stars? is that for likes?

- speaking of likes when do they come back to the user info on the left side?

- user "ballpilot" join date was "**Joined: Mar 20, 2019 5:30pm**". is the 5:30pm necessary? i think post count should be one line and join date should be right below it.

- shows the post number in the left side plus the top right of the post? why both?

- "club wrx" shows twice for Hawkeye.

- it just seems like too much going on.

There is no "title" option. I did see a post above mentioning html and copying and pasting and webcode and notepad and sorry, but have no idea at all what that means, lol.

I checked .... I now have "Title" in my edit profile .... when I try to change ..... "Z-Z's First Love - 1970" ..... to my location the following error message appears .... Usernames must be 3-20 characters and consist of letters, numbers, and underscores.

Why do I have to change my User name ..... "Zip-in-Z" ..... to enable me to save the changes to amend or update something in my Profile ?

Doesn't make sense .... any suggestions ?

The forum software no longer supports spaces. Using some character is the alternative. It is not a changeable setting.

Many tks Gxgolfer/Admin for removing the spaces in Zip-in-Z .... now I'm able to edit & amend my profile and was able to include my Location(s).

Love the New .... as well the support is outstanding!

But yes, probably overly excited more in reaction to how it's been vs. how it is. Still wondering if a lot of the differences were behind the scenes, so to speak, for the stability of the site, etc.

Having said that, it's a lot more comfortable the past few days.

The reality is we didn’t update the board for years and the end of life date was 2 years past. Yes, we made a mistake in changing platforms too soon. It should have looked initially at launch like this. The reality is a lot of things we did on the other board are no longer compliant with current online rules and regulations. The ability to not be able to modify the core product and those limitations was a very hard lesson to learn. We will not get every functionality back but it will be close, more stable, and scalable. Changes are constantly happening/updating just about weekly. Most probably will not be noticed.

We still have a lot of clean up to do. Every change requires documentation, testing, and approval. Even doe replacing icons. So changes are gated.

To me it still looks much the same as it did last week and months prior. Font is still tiny, pages are still hard on the eyes with too much white. I'm sure all those months of waiting on this resulted in many changes but they are not very obvious to me. Maybe a summary of what this rollout included would be helpful? Sorry to be a downer but I was expecting something quite different.

ETA: I too have fallen into the trap of not being able to change my profile because of the space in my username. Any assistance appreciated!

What current online rules and regulations are prohibiting WRX from making this software the best it can be? I mean this is a golf forum not some important piece of software. What was done in the last software that is now no longer compliant with this limited software you're dealing with? Random rules from Vanilla? Very odd.

In my mobile version of Chrome I can't find the button to EDIT my post. I Rarely use desktop version so don't know if it's there. Is there a way to EDIT my own post?

Mobile edit button is on the punch list. You can currently edit it on the non mobile site.

As stated before, security and privacy rules have drastically changed over the years. Google the topic for more In depth technical explanations.
