Suggestions for leather headcover that fits G400 Max well

Sorry if this has been discussed previously, I did a search but did not find anything...

I have used a Stitch leather headcover the past few years that has fit my drivers (Srixon z565 & standard G400) well. I have recently updated to a G400 Max and the larger footprint of the club makes it difficult to get the Stitch headcover on. Also, once it is on it looks a bit odd due to how snug it is. What companies sell a simple leather headcover that will fit the G400 Max without being overly snug? I am just looking for a simple design (black and white), does not to be a really fancy custom design.

I use a Links and Kings solid black on my 400 max. I had a Seamus wool I was previously using, but that wouldn't fit the max.

I’ve got a Seamus and a Dormie that fits the max perfectly.

Ping sells a nice black leather one. It should be no problem for a 400Max. Ping online is $70. I have one for my G400 and it has lots of room so I know it could fit a bigger head.

I ordered it thru a pro shop that was a customer of mine, but when it came in, they wouldn't let me pay, nor tell me the price...sorry I can't help you there.

I have a Sunfish blacked out leather on my Max fits perfect

I have a CRU custom headcover that fits my G410 Plus great with room to spare. Should fit the G400 MAX too.

I have those D,3,5,3H. They are actually waxed canvas and "pu" leather (pleather, polyurethane "leather") although I think the club number patch is leather, not 100%. Still fantastic headcovers. All fit my G400 heads perfectly. Putter cover is magnetic and also a perfect, snug fit on an Anser/Anser2.

Pings white and black genuine leather headcovers are good choices too. They don't fit as snug but aren't coming off full throttle in a cart going downhill into the wind :)

I had a couple Stitch fairway headcovers a few years ago that were beautiful but on more than one occasion I had to backtrack a few holes and retrieve after they blew off.

AM&E make some of the best headcovers in the business. I prefer this "boxing glove" type because of how easily they go on & off. They're also incredibly durable. They make several other styles that are full leather.

I tried an AM&E on my Max and it was a nightmare to get on and off.

Was it the same style shown in above photo? That's the type i have, and so does my daughter who is a collegiate player. We were both using it with the Max with zero problems, extremely easy to get on and off.

Exact same however it was new cover so over time the leather and fur probably stretches to fit the head.

That's probably the case. Honestly, ease of on & off is the main reason these are my favorites

I’m surprised that yours worked. I just ordered a custom genuine leather headcover on Black Friday and it barely fits my Max. It is stretched so taught that the finish on the leather has started cracking. In all fairness, Sunfish offered me a full refund and let me keep the cover but I would have rather paid full price and had a cover that fit. Maybe they’re aware of the fitment issues because they never even offered a replacement.

Awww crap...I ordered a sunfish last night. I guess we will see how it fits and return it if it doesn't work out.

FYI here is a photo that shows the splitting/cracking that I’m talking about. Bear in mind this photo was taken immediately after being delivered. This isn’t after hundreds of times being taken on and off. I imagine that it will be worse after use but maybe not. Your mileage may vary but this was my experience with Sunfish and the Max.

Thanks for the picture, it looks like that is actual leather, but can you confirm that is not their fake duraleather or whatever they call it. If it is that tight a fit, I don't think it will work for me, I hate having to struggle with headcovers after every use. Perhaps I will just need to use the stock cover as it fits well and is not that bad looking. Not a fan of advertising what clubs are in the bag due to some people having sticky fingers, but it might be my only reasonable option.

Real genuine leather. The only thing that is Duraleather are the accent stripes.

Well, the Sunfish arrived and it is a no-go. Sunfish was great with the return though. I really wish they had something that would fit as I have always thought they sell a high quality leather headcover for a reasonable price. Back to the drawing board.

Just received the set and it took a couple of “inserts” to get the cover to mold and fit the G400 max head. Not much padding though in the covers.

Sorry to hear but I was expecting that it wouldn’t fit. I agree because other than the fit and the subsequent cracking, the headcover is very nice.
