I thought the same when I seen it but watching more of telecast, she than took it out most rest of the round. I was scratching my head but then remembered Brooke has some weird golfing habits lol

Yeah Danielle came out of the gate on fire, her putting looked really good today. Nelly and Ariya and Eun-Hee ji had a rough day but no judgements only one round, I like to see 3 events to gauge where a player's at, starting the season. The greens look like they can get dangerous but they'll probably keep it tame with the celebrities playing.

She could be just waiting till the Founders, I don't think she can get into the Asian swing events and maybe just decided to skip Australia and not have the start and stop to the beginning of her season.

I agree Australia isn't worth it at this point of her career, but Gainbridge next week is right in her backyard in Florida.

To add to the confusion; Paula has just participated in "Morgan and Friends", Morgan Pressel's breast cancer charity event, last week.

Fun tournament to watch. Hope they don't ham it up with the celebrities too much though....that's what ruined celebrity Pro-Ams for me. Just too much schtick! Surprised Nelly didn't play well yesterday, & very pleased to see Lexi Thompson playing well again & she seemed really happy to be out there. Most of last season she acted like she wanted to be anywhere but on the golf course. I always like seeing Danielle Kang doing well. She's becoming a favorite of mine, she's got "spunk".

It may be the thought of reaching world #1 that got into Danielle's head; she's shot 13 consecutive under par rounds before today.

She's certainly is still in it; she shot four rounds of -6 or better during that 13 rounds streak.

Nineteen 2019 Q-Series qualifiers are in the field; including Yui Kawamoto, Jennifer Chang, Haley Moore, Andrea Lee, Esther Henseleit and Bianca Pagdanganon.

She finished even par (T18) here last year after shooting 75 in the final two rounds. Perhaps the course simply doesn't suite her game.

Looks like Danielle's bad round was a combination of poor ballstriking, and poor putting. She got into trouble off the tee a few times, and even though she still managed to hit the (large) green, she left herself with lengthy putts. Her speed control was off by a mile. 'Good to see that she was still smiling at the end of the round. She'll chalk it up as simply one of those days.

The leaderboard of a small field is fungible and can change quickly; Jessica Korda is T5 even though she finished R1 seven shots behind Danielle Kang.

Brooke continuing her pattern form last season with the round 3 choke job

Early as it may be in the season, one thing seems certain ... and that is that she has not really improved on her short game. 0/2 in sand saves in Round 3 so far ... we'll see how her putting is for 2020. Its low right now because her ball striking was pretty good - especially yesterday with her eagle and short birdie putts (as from what I saw ... which admittedly was minimal at best).

Let us hope that she has improved in that area over the season .... and that she learns something from playing with Inbee today. Inbee has been steady ... pars and birdies get it done. Brooke has not learned where and when to play a bit more conservative (I.e.: steady) .... throughout her professional career she has had far too many bogies and doubles on her scorecards, relying on her power off 0f the tees and her aggressive iron play to make birdies/eagles to offset her bogies and doubles.

Really it her sand play, on the 2 hole she put it in the bunker, was par 3 where she doubled and the par 5 where she bogeyed and her putting seems sloppy today adding up to a mess of a round.

I went yesterday and followed Inbee for several holes. She looked as solid as ever.
