2020 Honma TR20 460cc & 420cc Drivers and TR20V and TR20P Irons- In Hand Pics

I spoke with Honma and they can do a custom build in the 60 with an X Flex or in the 70 as well. I am about 108-110 so leaning towards the 60X

The Vizard FD-7X is a killer shaft for anyone that's looking for a little different profile than the stock Vizard. I tried both and ended up preferring the FD-7X quite a bit more.

My driver swing speed indoors is 110-112 on a good day. 3/4 backswing and a little early extension. My miss is a pull draw. I pull pretty hard from the top. The Vizard FD-7X was great for me, helped me "slow down" a little from the top and not waste so much power/speed right away. I was hitting the TR20 440 around 8*. Ball speed was 163-165 consistently. I compared it to the Mavirk SZ w/ Ventus Black, SpeedZone w/ Ventus Black, SIM Max w/ Ventus Black and SIM w/ Ventus Black. My highest ball speed came from the SIM Max, my largest deviation with the SIM but the most consistent was the TR20 440. While it didn't give me the highest ball speed, it gave me the most consistent numbers and feel. I also really like the look of the Honma a lot. I think once Club Conex makes the adapter for Honma and I'm able to test out different shafts, it will unlock a lot for me. I can see me gaming this driver w/ a Ventus Black, Diamana D LTD or even a ZF.

I have a set of 747v irons with project x lz6.0 shafts that I am trying to decide if I want to sell or combo. I switched to the tw-x for that extra forgiveness in the long irons and I've had really good success with them. The TR20 driver is on my list to try.

How did you find the tr20 p compares to the tw x?

I have had a few rounds now with the TR20Ps and they have been great. I do prefer a slightly more traditional loft setup but the clubs have performed like few others I have hit. The others is a very high number of irons from the last 6 years. Really happy I tried them, they are high quality and can be had for good deals because of the lack of honma play.

Really hate they've reduced the lofts so much on the TR20 V model.

Just recently introduced to Honma, have 737v and 747v sets now, extremely impressed.

i am not sure I like these as much as far as specs and looks.

No I have not. I tried the 460 TR20 and was not thrilled. The 455 has been long and straight for me.

Has anyone reshafted any of the 747 irons.....I assume they are taper tip. Do they take a collared ferrule?

I went ahead and bought the TR20P irons and reshafted with 110 F5 recoils, these do everything I could ask and as expected a club longer. Not 100% sold on the shafts and may try the Paderson 110 ballistic down the road.

Even with the higher lofts they drop and stop and even had the 10 & 11 back up a bit, just a great clubhead for my game.

Is the loft adjustable on the TR20 Driver?, it is impossible to tell by the pictures and the specs out there don't say from what I have found, how much either way?

They are indeed .355 and do not take a collared ferrule

Driver looks so clean. I think I like the looks of the 737’s and 747’s better. I need to see them in person for sure.

How does the feel, sound, and sole of the 20’s compare to the 737 and 747’s?

I hit the 460 TR20 for a few rounds and then the 455 TW747. For me the 747 was longer and straighter. However, the TR20 was a demo with a Hzrdus yellow and the 747 has the Vizard. So not really apples to apples. The 455 size I was a bit worried about as I never got along with 440 Taylormades but this seems to be my sweet spot. Massive price savings did not hurt. I liked the driver so much I wound up getting the 747v irons as well.

Wow this is not a easy to understand setup or at least to me, so is the S on the face angle the more open setting? I prefer a bit upright but with a face more open than square or closed, going ot have just go to the range and try them all and see what happens.
