Tiger could have played football his whole life and taken every steroid known to man and have no chance of ever completing an NFL pass over 15 yards.

 

You ever play football? We had a QB with what was considered a cannon of an arm back in my Uncle Rico high school team.

 

And no way he could even come close to competing in any top COLLEGE football team with all the practice in the world.

 

On the NFL level? He’d throw like 50% interceptions.

 

Tiger? Even with playing football his whole life.

 

100% interception percentage on passes over 15 yards ; )

 

Just like if Brady played golf his whole life, he’d never be a tour pro.

I just saw this ESPN show on Lance Armstrong. I just started cycling last year and never new much about him.

 

Did you know he didn’t even really cycle as a Little kid? He basically did it when he got into doing triathlons as a teenager.

 

By 18, he was destroying top cyclists who had been doing it their whole lives. I always thought it was the doping that made him the best. But he was the best when neither he or anyone was really doping with EPO. Then, he needed to use it when it became popular and was the best again when everyone was on it.

 

But he said he stunk at every other sport like baseball and football. He was slow and uncoordinated at those.

 

These guys, Tiger, Brady, Armstrong. They are prodigies at their sports. But doesn’t mean they can compete in others.

 

Cept for Bo, of course. He’s like a superhero; )

This reminds me of some of the other "I play golf and golf is hard" type threads where posters are so wrapped up in their own ego they can't see the forest for the trees.

More professional athletes from the major sports play golf, and some play quite well, as compared to professional golfers who take up other sports. There isn't a single professional golfer that could withstand the physicality of a professional football game, let alone an entire season.

I did sports photography for a long time, and the view down on the field is so much different than in the stands. From above, things look organized and well thought out, at field level it is chaotic and fluid. The skill sets are completely different, but in golf everything does proceed at a placid pace.

To be high level at any pro sport takes a lot of talent and dedication. The physical skill sets are somewhat different. The physical pounding is a lot different in football, but then again Tiger probably had the most surgeries out of that group.

 

Pointless arguement really. I enjoy both sports, but golf is MUCH easier once you are over 40 years old. ?

I have serious doubts as to whether Tiger could even throw a football 25 yards. Especially a bullet. While wearing shoulder pads and a helmet.

25 yards looks like a short toss for a true QB, but put someone a true 25 yards away and you’ll find it’s a much more difficult task than people think.

Here is Mahomes throwing a football 58mph. That’s about as fast as any qb can throw. He throws one 62 but not accurately.

 

You get a view of the blur the ball is that the receiver sees, which ain’t much ; )

It’s much like a lot of other athletic activities. The guys on TV make it look so easy.
