Ping G410 Max?

I've done this for years with my tmag drivers and I play them at 44.75", I usually need to replace both weights because the additional weight needed for taking 3/4" off is less than a standard weight weighs. With my m5 I put 3 weights, one on each extreme, with the heavier weight along the face to keep the ball down.

I can't recommend this highly enough, the big stick was always a weak spot for me before this +weight/-length strategy. Be sure to check a swingweight chart to get an idea of how much weight per length you should add.

Like other said there will be no 410 Max, Ping even said it themselves, they gave up some MOI for the ability to adjust the driver.

Honest for me the G410 Plus is miles ahead of the G400 Max for me. I did 2 fittings first was a 400 Max with an Accra shaft, solid numbers better than anything else i tested. Re-tested when the G410 came out and the 410 Plus with a Ping Tour shaft and weight in draw had me further, straighter and tighter than the G400 Max. Going to retest again this year to see if I can find a new shaft to give the 410 Plus a little more.

The G410 line is no slouch and mine will be in my bag a long time.

I definitely think the G410 line is a winner for sure, which is saying something given how good the 400 line was. I appreciated that as a company that generally lagged behind in the adjustability department (more limited hosel and weight adjustments) that in one fell swoop they jumped to the front of the pack in terms of fade/draw CG bias adjustability range. They could have dinked around like Taylormade did/does by making the initial adjustment range smaller and then widening it over the course of several releases, but instead they went straight for the goal and even surpassed the range that Taylormade HAD been building up to over the course of four releases. I hope they stick with that strategy with whatever they do next.

Yeah it is simple at first glance but Ping probably did a ton as usual for them. Me just being able to move the weight from neutral to draw was a huge game changer and the fact that I didn't need to go into a SFT for straighter ball flight is huge because the club can adjust as my swing improves. Can also throw in an extra weight or even a heavier or lighter one to get dialed in. I know many wished it was a slide track like TM does but that would have taken away even more MOI which Ping doesn't want to do.

Yeah I thought about the slide track concept but that would have likely required more weight in the track area to support that they likely couldn't afford.
The nice thing about the combo of the 410 Plus and the SFT is they were clearly designed to perfectly mirror each other. The 410 Plus set neutral is a bit fade biased, and becomes very fade biased in its "Fade" setting and pretty close to neutral in its "Draw" setting. The 410 SFT is exactly the same, just flipped. Slightly draw biased stock, heavily draw biased in "Draw", and just about neutral in "Fade". I love that kind of consistency in design, because as a result, those two heads cover a little over 10mm of CG bias adjustment (evenly split ~5mm each). That may not sound like much, but CG bias is a game of millimeters, which is the game that G410 is winning right now. To compare, the M5 offers about 3.7mm of adjustment range and the Titleist drivers equipped with Surefit CG, about 1.5mm. To put this in perspective, per @Howard_Jones DIY driver tuneup thread, you can expect around 250rpm of spin difference for every 1/8" (3.18mm) in strike location change. Now that applies to vertical strike variation and backspin, but i'm sure it correlates pretty closely with horizontal strike location and axis tilt, depending on MOI.
So all that is to say; millimeters matter!

I thought the G400 MAX was the best driver Ping ever made until the G410 Plus. MAX was almost perfect except for the slight left side bias(for me). The fade setting on the Plus is exactly what I needed. The G410 drivers have really held their value on EBay. There is a reason for that. Heck even the G400 MAX is still pretty expensive. That’s a testament to how well these clubs work. I anxiously await Pings next driver. Whether it’s the G420 or a G410 MAX.

They do perform but their holding value has more to do with their strict pricing. The 400 max is still at their original msrp.

I’m talking about used resale prices on EBay. There is a high demand for the G400 Max and the G410 drivers. Final closing prices on these clubs are way higher than their competition counterparts from the same year of release.

Yeah i've noticed that as well. Every time I think I might be able to grab a 400 cheap on eBay they are all still hovering around $200. There is a used G400 MAX that is about to sell for at least $300.

I got a fantastic condition 10.5 M5 with Hzrdus Smoke Stiff on ebay for about $175. It cost me $320 for the G410 LST 10.5 with the same shaft. A showdown is coming once we can start playing golf again. Ping is the resale king. I sold my 9* G410 LST (hit too low) HEAD for $279. Put it up on eBay and gone in 2 days. Try that with another oem head from last year.
