Tracking Hasn't Moved In 9 Days - What to do?

Well opening a missing package case didn't work. I got an email yesterday from USPS saying my case had been solved....... but by "solved" they meant "We are experiencing delays due to COVID, etc., etc." .

They also said I should check with the seller because "it looks like the shipment label was the only that that was made. This package has not been presented to the Post Office just yet". MGO told me after week one that the package was picked up by USPS with their shipments the day the label was created and I have no reason to believe that isn't true.

I asked MGO to open a case and did not hear back from them so I opened it myself and still no progress. I sent them USPS' response and haven't heard back from them either so I'm a little upset at the lack of response/communication by the seller. I'll reach out them again and ask them to open a case on their end again I guess. Until then the waiting game continues...

Yeah I have a tracking number. Thus Far the movement has been:

6/1 Tracking Number Provided

6/1 - Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending - Hartford, CT 06101

That is it. I would be OK if there was some movement and it was stuck in a processing warehouse or something. Seller says it was picked up by USPS on 6/1.

I had the same as this on items I sold back in April or May. I made a label at home and dropped at the post office on their counter for packages with labels purchased online. You don't check it in with a person so their employees can spend their time with the people that need assistance, and they scan it in later when convenient. It went absent like this for about 2 weeks before it finally moved and showed up in the system. This actually happened to me twice. Either the individual post office is overwhelmed and didn't scan in, or it's waiting at the processing facility to be scanned in. With the amount of inventory MGO moves I guarantee they just drop everything off and somebody checks it in when they get a chance. In times like this when they're understaffed it may have just been taken aside with a group and never scanned.

Not saying for sure that's what's happened, just my experience to try to give you some hope. Additionally, I wouldn't take their lack of response as them not caring. They sell and list thousands of items a day, they likely get so many notifications and messages that they can't keep up or check in on everything when they know it's a USPS issue.

Yeah I get that they probably get a lot of messages from buyers, however, when I sent them a message after 1 week of no tracking movement, they responded within hours. Now I have sent them 3 other messages since 6/13 (2 requests for them to open up a Missing Package case with USPS) and have not received any response.

At this point I am going to wait a couple more days and then request a refund if there is still no tracking movement or it doesn't miraculously show up at my doorstep.

I recently bought a couple fairways on eBay and the seller shipped them USPS Parcel Select Ground at the tune of $18. Accepted on June 12th in FL and finally made it to KY to the last destination before my local post office after 11 days. Sat there an hour away from me for two days and then headed two hours back to the south to Memphis. After two days in Memphis it's now safely arrived in St Paul, MN. Lol.

Hope yours pops up soon. At least mine's in the system and moving all over the country. I would imagine arguing with them that it was picked up when it shows acceptance pending would be a lot more difficult than what I'm dealing with. Especially when the seller isn't helping. Good luck!

You can always create a case online with usps and typically the tracking will update within 24 hours. I did this recently for two packages I shipped because it took longer and both were updated and delivered within the next few days. They’ll give you a call too which is nice to get an update.

Just had this issue with a few eBay items that I recently sold. One item shipped from OH to CA updated tracking for the first 3-4 days, with the last updates being that the package was going to be delivered late and that it was “in transit” with no scans for about a week and a half until it finally got delivered (2 weeks after I shipped 2 day priority mail).

The second item was shipped from Cleveland to Cincinnati 2 day priority and actually arrived and was out for delivery the following day. I guess the buyer had just recently moved to a new address, (less than 10 miles from his old address) but had not updated his eBay shipping address. That resulted in the package being being forwarded to the new address, and although only 10 miles apart near the Cincinnati area, the package was sent to an assortment hub somewhere in Michigan to be sorted and redistributed. Package took another 2 weeks before it was delivered to the new address. I did open a missing mail search which seemed to speed up the delivery process, as they located and gave me an update as to where the package was within a day of me opening the missing mail case.

Also had similar problems with USPS and labels that were created online. Apparently, the local post office doesn't scan the package when they receive it and that is "normal practice". Apparently the first scan doesn't happen until it gets to the distribution warehouse and routed towards it's destination. I dropped mine off at the post office and it took over a week for the first scan to appear...this process seems incredibly stupid to me. They USPS should be scanning every package that is dropped off at the post office.

Your case is much more severe at this point. Given that it has been a month, I would just file a claim to get your refund and let the seller deal with USPS and getting the package routed back to them.

Requested a refund and got my money back. Not sure if the seller opening a case or reaching out to the local post office that picked it up would have helped or not. Ultimately they didn't seem very interested in resolving it or helping out on their end - but maybe it wouldn't have made a difference at all. Either way, dissapointed in the lack of response from MGO after several messages.

On the plus side, I'd say it ends up 50/50 you get the item anyway....eventually. When the dollar value isn't super high there usually isn't much follow through on these claims to actually track down the item. If it wasn't stolen by someone along the way then there is a good chance it will eventually show up.

My kid and his friend both ordered the same thing at the same time (custom keyboard kit) on the 13th. Shipping from RI to CA. First package arrives on the 19th and the second is scheduled for delivery today, 10 days later.

And if you think we (US guys) got it bad, I sold a set of motorcycle carburetors to a guy in Australia on May 2nd and they still haven't been delivered. The US PO got the package moving right away but those Aussie's ain't gonna be rushed (or so it seems.)

I had a package from Golfio that stopped cold in shipping two weeks after I bought it in late May. Very helpful rep asked me to wait three days if there was no further movement, then call back for a replacement. I did, and they sent pronto. And then what arrives TODAY, but the original package. Box was beat all to heck but it was just a soft good, so now I have two for the price of one.
