I honestly don’t think there’s much difference in forgiveness between the 2. Both are reasonably forgiving for the size of the head.

If you have a low swing speed, a crap strike with either will result in a crap result 9/10 times. 
 

if you have some speed then the mishits will turn out better I find

Yah probably true. Also factor in the distance. The p790 are quite a bit longer. Stronger lofts obv.

I struggle a bit with my 770 4i. Hearing that forgiveness between the 790 and 770 are similar, is it still worth trying a 790 4i?

Yeah, but you’ll need to adjust the loft. FWIW I’d rate the P790 forgiveness at 9 out of 10 and my 770’s as a 7.5.

Assuming matching lofts, are the 790’s easier to get up in the air?

I have played with a p7mc(8-pw)/p770 (5-7)combo for a month now with kbs 130. 9 hcp and 7i clubspeed of 102. There is quite a difference in these, I feel I get way more punished with misshits with the mc but the feel is amazing. You really need to hit down on the mc to get that nice ball flight, having a way easier time with my previous CB irons. Will probably be some time to get used to them but other than that I am super happy with them.

So, in the typical off season of snow and lots of staring at golf gear online, I find myself really getting into the looks of the P7MC.  In the Apex TCB at the moment and not necessarily in the market to change.  But, we got hit with a blizzard yesterday and I am feeling really antsy.  Anyone compare the two by chance?

TCB a little bit smaller of a headshape, more neutral at address, little bit softer feel. MCs are a little bit longer, and SLIGHTLY thicker topline, a little bit more forgiving and more of a click than the TCBs. Some people, including myself had trouble with mishits on the MCs. Big punishments on ball speed and shape especially out towards the toe. TCBs (for me at least) were a little bit more consistent on off-center strikes.

Hmm.  My miss is toe side.  I get away with it pretty well with the TCB.
