Decide how much stuff you want to be able to carry. If you are a minimalist, then you can consider the SL2.  If you want to carry anything more than a light sweater and a few sleeves of balls, move on from the SL2.  The SL2 is VERY tight on storage.  I normally keep 6-9 balls, a small pouch for tees/ball marker/pencils, and some sunscreen and even then it can feel pretty tight. The water bottle holder encroaches on the main ball pocket as well, so with a bottle in there it gets even tighter.

I have never held/seen a Vessel lite, so I can't comment on the storage, but just looking at it online you can tell it has more room for stuff and a more traditional pocket layout.  I love my SL2, but if you are a pack rat, look elsewhere.

I bought a Vessel Lite for my father in law so did manage to have a good look at it. Storage-wise it felt like a standard Titleist carry so pretty decent. The new Vessel Lite Lux look very nice but haven’t seen one in person yet.

I personally got a Titleist Linksmaster which looks awesome but is certainly heavier than Stitch/Vessel Lite.

Not sure if you are aware but Vessel has released a new bag that might be a better comparison to the SL2.

Update on this please! I have an SL2 and agree with the comments above as far as storage and classic look. How does the VLX or even the lite lux compare to the SL2?

I have both and agree with the statements about the SL2.   I loved the SL2 and easy for walking and such and wanted to try a Vessel. I just got the Lite bag and so far i like it.  The top opening is smaller for sure but i have not had any issues with club tangle yet.  I will say the pockets are bigger so you are able to carry some more stuff if needed.

Can't go wrong with either bag and as both are very well made.

Having trouble deciding between the 2. What are the opinions on both. Anything else I should consider?

I used a SL2 for most of '19 and in May of '20 had to send it back to Stitch over the zippers on the pockets. I'm still waiting to receive it back. In the interim I picked up a Miura Demo version of the Vessel Lite and have used it over the past 8 months.

In a direct comparison I'll say I prefer the Vessel because it offers more pockets, is more comfortable to carry, and is more user friendly, while the Stitch has a more sturdy frame and and leg mechanism. I've never had a club tangle issue with either.

If I'd not had the zipper issue I'd still be gaming the Stitch. But having the opportunity to game the Vessel has been a pleasant, positive experience and will lead me to evaluate and purchase another of their bags and probably selecting the standard stand bag over the light.

The answer to better golf is work your butt off and learn how to hit it better, farther, and make more putts.

What’s your zipper issue?  I got an SL2 earlier this year and will admit I’m not over the moon about it. It doesn’t have enough storage for me. It’s beautiful, and I get comments on it often, and seems to be very well made. But I have an issue with every zipper on the bag. They get stuck basically. If I go back and forth with it enough it will always come unstuck, and I guess it is possible that I’ve overstuffed the pockets thus making the zippers hard to operate. But I feel like I couldn’t put more than a scorecard and a few balls / ballmarkers in the bag before it becomes overstuffed.

Is this your issue, or something different?  I haven’t emailed stitch about it yet because I’m not 100% sure it’s a problem. Maybe even a little grease would solve it. But for nearly $400, feels like it would zip right up with no fuss.

The pocket zippers have broken, as in they've come apart, won't go back together, and cannot be repaired. The zippers will have to be replaced. In the full length pocket I kept the rain hood, GG shorty jacket, and two gloves. From the outside it appeared empty so it wasn't over-stuffed. In the smaller pocket was a tube of sun screen and quart Crown Royal bag with a CR2 battery, a roll of Nexcare tape, and a sandwich bag with Advil, Benadryl, and a tube of Neosporin. Again, not over-stuffed. For such a nice bag, it was a disappointment.

The company I work for purchased a dozen of these bags with the company logo included on the bags, so I'm not out any costs. We were really excited for them when we saw them as they are a really sharp looking bag. Half the guys use them as office decor. There are 4 others who game their bags and 3 of those 4 have similar issues. Stitch initially wasn't receiving any returns due to Covid restrictions and I know they've been short-staffed, so who knows when we will get 'em back. In the interim I'll use the Miura Vessel to carry and a new Hoofer Tour for the cart, so I'm not in a hurry to get it back. It'll probably end up as decor for my office as well.
